Haha! Never heard of a penguin turning into an egg!
They should have been giving away eggs that turned inside-out into penguins!
I wonder which came first! :rotfl:
Completely off-subject, just seen this joke on the 'Funny Joke' thread. Thought it was funny!
Wife: "How would you describe me?"
Husband: "ABCDEFGHIJK."
Wife: "What does that mean?"
Husband: "Adorable, beautiful, cute, delightful, elegant, fashionable, gorgeous, and hot."
Wife: "Aw, thank you, but what about IJK?"
Husband: "I'm just kidding!"

Hahahahaha I must use that one on WaSp, Pyxis!
Aw, thank you haybel. I wonder if we could alter the penguin slightly to something like "This might be a penguin because it discusses <insert reason>. Is it ok to mention it?" Kind of like I do with my penguin replies where I give a (hopefully) safe synopsis of what I am about to say before launching into it? That way people have a choice to say it's fine, ask away! or stoppp! I am being smothered by a giant penguin foot! (not quite like that but you get the point).
Just a suggestion, no one has to do it but I have always felt that if I give people a safe idea of what the penguin is about first then they have an informed choice whether to read on or not rather than just knowing it might be an anonymous penguin and not knowing why until they start reading
There are way too many uses of the word penguin in this post, the word sounds odd now....Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I think banning religion from the thread is a Very Good Idea
- would everyone be happy with this?

Sorry to butt in off-topic again, but I've just seen this on the 'Things that made you smile' thread! It's called the Anti-depression Video. It shows 4 babies, Quads I think, laughing their cotton socks off. Guaranteed to start you off too!
The first link I clicked on wasn't available for mobile devices, but I found this one that is. Click on the picture titled 'Antidepression Video' and prepare to giggle!

Thanks for that haybel, I've had to stop reading much the last few days as some of it was too much for me.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Perhaps if everyone agrees we can add the religion ban to the rules which are republished every so many posts?
I agree a heads up as to topic of potential penguin question is appropriate BEFORE posting.
Yet, Haybel! I was just going to suggest that, and am about to,repost the 'rules'.
Might I suggest, though, that 'ban' sound a bit fierce for a friendly thread? Would a 'strongly suggest' on account of it being a potent trigger for some posters and lurkers be a gentler way of putting it?(I just lurve spiders!)

I am fine with religion being banned from the thread as someone who is very triggered by it. I do want to add that I have no problems with anyone's personal religious beliefs at all, it is purely because of my past and how my mother used it to control me that makes it difficult for me. I completely respect others beliefs to believe in whatever they choose. Religion and people who believe are not the actual trigger, what was done to me in the name of religion is, as is considering an afterlife at this time.
Just to clarify what I meant, instead of saying this might be a penguin and then starting the discussion I thought it might be easier for people if we say "This might be a penguin as it discusses <topic>, is it ok to ask about this?" I don't want the thread so safe that everyone is scared to post anything but giving a brief outline gives the chance for everyone to jump in if it is a trigger for them before anything further is said. Everyone probably knew that was I meant but my head is all over the place so I am having to repeat myself so that I make sense to me!
Oh, that is adorable, Pyxis! I can;t help but laugh, too! and strongly suggest also works for me!
PS. can someone else please talk for me and arrange what we are doing because my head is way too much of a mess to think about this clearly and I am editing everything to make things read better and just basically babbling on!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I agree with advertising a Penguin of Potential Perturbation!
To make it obvious there's a penguin ahead, what about about putting the word Penguin in bright red to make it stand out?
And also putting 'End of Penguin' at the end , to show it's safe to go back into the posts?
Or is that all a bit too much?(I just lurve spiders!)
