Another opportunity for you to help people WaS! By typing your partner's words on to the motoring or computing forums, you can help him and those who could use his knowledge. He presumably is WaSP??
And if he can build anything, what about a harmonograph which in my opinion is even more soothing and amazing than a spirograph. Google it as my attempts to copy & paste have not been successful.
WaS, you have had nothing to do with MSE's hiccups today - now go & have a glass of water!Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
This is a ink to the page giving construction details. Right at the end are some of the drawings produced., and a short videoclip showing a homemade one in action.

Sorry to be so late to the party...
Having a nightmare time. Little one ended taken to hospital by ambulance shortly after 12am yesterday morning (fri morn) very high temp and was being sick and breathing hard. Six hours of observation before being sent home as little miss has ear infections in both ears and a throat infection.
Triggered my PTSD as had to go to hospital that caused my PTSD. So feeling very fragile and low.
Then by midday little miss temp had spiked and had to see GP he wanted to keep a close eye suggesting she go home and sleep for a little while and he would do a home visit at 3pm thankfully temp is more stable. She has super strength anti biotics and just wants mummy. Bless her.
Other baby has come out in sympathy and has a very red gunky ear and sore toes (think he possible transferrred infection from ear when scratching) so he is off to the vets first thing. Poor Max is feeling rather sorry for himself too.
I have had no real sleep for more than 34 hours but struggling to sleep due to PTSD.
Going to put my white noise cd on in a bit.
By the way has any one tried zentangle? Very relaxing.Make £10 a day challenge November £125.60/310

Sorry to hear Haybel that your lo is unwell, at least she will now be on the mend with the treatment. Hope Max also is diagnosed and treated and feeling better asap too.
Hope your white noise helps you sleep, and you feel less fragile in the morning. I'm listening to the pouring rain which sounds lovely0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Well! I've just learned something! I didn't know what fractals were, so I've just been googling some! And just realised that all my triangle doodling was making fractals!
Haven't explored the maths behind it yet, but I've always loved what I now know to be fractals in nature, like leaf and petal patterns.
Thanks for that, Elsien!
A fractally cauli!
I think it's actually a type of broccolli .
(Although it calls it broccolli AND cauliflower in this link):

Are you often bothered with insomnia, Seven-day?
Being awake between two and four a.m. is the worst time ever. If I'm awake for those two hours I feel drunk and hungover for ages. Probably because the body's systems (those dreaded hormones again!) are all at their lowest ebb then. Also it seems to be the hardest time to get back to sleep. Possibly something to do with melatonin levels? I'll have to google it as I can't remember!
It's interesting, because if I'm awake until midnight, sleep, and then wake at 5.00 a.m., I'm fine, but if I sleep at 10p.m., wake at 3a.m., and don't get back to sleep, I feel dreadful for most of the day!
Anyway, Seven-day, thank you for being here!(I just lurve spiders!)

haybel,
Hope little one and you got some sleep and are feeling better.
Hope Max's appointment goes well too.
When I had deadlines, I could work until midnight and then get up at 4.30am to finish it. I could never work through the night. (I still have deadlines, they are just less intense):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
