I would be sitting the car with a blanket over my head and cuddling Sir Pugliet!

I do know my own motivations very well (I would have a problem if I didn't after 16 years of therapy) and can usually stop myself acting on my fears. I certainly wouldn't ever stop my friend from having other friends no matter how much it hurt me, I couldn't ever live with myself.

It doesn't stop me still feeling afraid though, I just try to rationalise as best that I can and remind myself to think before I say anything. I certainly don't think my friend is so shallow to just end a friendship with me for someone new, that would be an insult to her. This just makes me get all the more frustrated with myself for still having the emotional reaction, the ability to analyse myself and see things calmly in an adult manner is there, but my emotions are still of a lonely little girl in the school playground.

Yes, WaS, it is so bloody tiring having to go through all the rationalising it out, isn't it.

Gosh reading this thread makes me realise how complex some reasonably simple things can become from different angles.

It feels like my understanding is improving so thank you for sharing.

    dibuzz,

do you mind me asking what diagnosis you have?

I think if we ever had a MSE meetup for this thread, we would all sit in a room not talking to each other.

No chance of silence with me there I'm afraid.

You are of course presuming we'd all make it into said room to start with. I have visions of sitting outside in the car then pretending I'd got the wrong day or time.

Hmm, if GIT dog came may be he'd want to play with one of mine if I brought one! Then you'd feel you had to do it for him. :p

I wouldn't even make it to the room.

Me too, but also have more questions all the time,

ATM I find my self wondering how much the 'person' or personality is impacted . E.g, A lot of traits that are impacted by conditions can occur in people with no health problem, so can they be or become part of the person quite aside fro. The condition?
  • Ok, I am in for blanket den! I'll even bring colouring books! Everyone is welcome, bring your own pugs.
