i was with them 3 years previously, so they canceled during the 4rd year. i was disqulified during the 1st year i had insurance with them.

disqualification was for totting up tt99

Not an easy case to please innocence on then.

Do you know the exact wording of the question about convictions / bans at renewal? I would assume this would be pointed out during them voiding the policy.

Did they refund the premiums you paid them?

Have you declared the voidance to your current Insurers?

    Getting a ccj is easy.

If you have no funds or assets then it would be pointless ( at present).

As posted they have 6 years to take legal action and are unlikely to forget you if you simply ignore them

Problem is i work and have a current 17k debt to of which 2/3rds is to people and a 1/3 to my credit cards.

is it 6 years from the letter i just received? and there is no way of avoiding them for 6 years?

The day the found out they asked my why i didn't tell them over the phone, i think i said i don't know, can't remember.

    they never refunded me.

its off my licence now so it doesn't matter.

The fact you had a policy voided will be recorded on a central database which most Insurers refer to when you have a claim although some will check when you apply for cover. If you're asked whether you've had a policy voided before then you need to declare it or run the risk of another voided policy.

You can just ignore them and see where it gets you - they don't need to know your current address though (as long as they serve notice to your last known address) to make a claim via court. The court claim will cost them around £550 plus legal fees (all of which can be added to the amount you owe), so they are likely to give you a chance first of all. If your employed, I doubt they'll just let it go as they know that via a CCJ they can get an attachment of earnings order.

Agreeing a payment plan now will give you more control, but if you want to wait and see what happens, then you could end up forced into an arrangement you can't afford.
  • You seem determined to wriggle out of this debt but it isn't going to happen. Concentrate on finding a way to pay. If you really can't afford it consider bankruptcy.

take it personal injury claim was also in this for the other party, could ask them for a split
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If it does get to this stage, how would the courts expect me to pay something i cannot afford. with already a 17k that i struggle to pay now. If i have nothing of value what can they really do, force the money out of PAYE even though i would require it?

Can this be done even though i work? would it mean i cannot get car insurance anymore?
