A little worried regarding a friends 13 month child, advice if possible please

Firstly crawling is not a milestone.
Secondly it is not unusual for a baby to not be walking at 13 months old! Infact that's about the average age they start to walk!
Thirdly, if all you have to worry about is your friends baby's developmental milestones, can we swap lives!!??
Honestly, if the baby is having health checks, and will be assigned a health visitor, it really is none of your concern! Babies develop very differently, and I'm sure if there was a concern, your friend would be taking it up with a relevant health care professional!0 -
As everyone says, I’m sure that this little girl is well within the bound of ‘normal development’ and will start to move around when she’s ready. However, just as a bit of a side note, we have a profoundly disabled child in my family whose mother was constantly reminded, mostly by very well-meaning people, that her child wasn’t hitting developmental milestones. The child’s mother said, many years later, that she was painfully aware that her child wasn’t developing at a ‘normal’ rate, that she needed some time to accept the fact herself and that the well-meaning advice was one of the most painful things she had ever experienced.
Unless you are actually a doctor, it’s probably best to stick to telling mothers how beautiful their children are and leaving it at that.0
