My creation account has limited functionality does this mean I can only see the balance and not any payments? I'm asking as my stepchange payment still is showing up on my account? Any advice?

It seems to be different for each company (and probably each DMP!)

I have only had two accounts locked out, and the rest either did not have online access or I can still get into them.

Has anybody with a Barclaycard account (and online access) had their April Stepchange payment applied to their account yet?

My account is still showing nothing - normally it is within 2 working days - and given that Stepchange sent out payments on 13th according to their website I am wondering where the payment has gone!

In other news, all of the other accounts that I can see do have payments applied now...

    Hi squizz,

I have looked for you today and no my BC hasn't updated.. Stepchange have updated my debt total mind but I will wait until the statement is produced at the end of the month before updating my % paid..! I am sure the payments have all gone to the right places and you will be able to see it after the usual pay date.

Hello everyone,My DMP with payplan has been declared set up today, i applied a few weeks ago and made the first payment to them last week,
Today they have sent the offer letters and first payment to my creditors of which there are 9. I hope they agree to stop interest and charges, but i will have to be patient and see. There are 2 with barclaycard who agreed to hold interest and charges whilst the dmp was being set up now does that mean they will continue to do so in the future. Ambrose wilson told me they would agree to stp interest and charges and very catalogue have during the set up stage so again i will have to wait and see. I note most of the posts seem to relate to dmps with step change is there anyone on here with paypal please x

Hi Teeni, and welcome. There are quite a few PayPalers on here, although not many regularly post which makes me think they are probably doing ok.

Re BC usually depends on the amount you pay v amount you owe.

Hi Teenie, I hope you haven't set up a DMP with Paypal unless you want to do lot's of shopping?:D I'm with Payplan and have been with them since 2011.

For me they had greater allowances than I could have got with Stepchange. I am paying a sizeable amount each month and wanted a bit of a life while understanding the debt would take a little bit longer to pay off.

I have no complaints at all, everything has gone along quite smoothly. Although the likes of Payplan and Stepchange administer your DMP you will still need to keep a keen eye on things. For instance your online balances with both presume that no interest is added. If you do not keep an eye on the creditor balances you may be in for a little shock if the creditors have applied some interest.

Barclaycard have a tier system where interest is concerned. I believe that if your payment is less than 1% of the balance interest is not applied. When you go over this interest can step up between 3%, 6%, 12% and even full interest on occasions. Barclaycard will also not tend to apply a default instead marking your file with AP markers.

The biggest bit of advice I will give is don't be rushed into making full DMP payments straight away. Try to make 2-3 months of token payments of a £1 and squirrel the remainder into a small emergency fund to start you off. Even though Payplan are administering your plan YOU are in charge and therefore you tell Payplan wjhen you will make the first full DMP payment.

    Good Morning...

I decided to do my dmp review a little early as its not due till July but I have a payrise in March and don't want to get used to spending extra..!! So I have upped and downed a few things in the budget and will now be paying a massive £13 extra a
    month :D..

The upside of this is it brings my dfd 2 months nearer.. so only the 86 months to go now....!!

I can't believe I have been on my dmp for 18 months now, the time has flown past and the debts.. well nearly £10k down and I've also been paying my family loan so that's another £3600 off.....

    I LOVE MY DMP......

hello - I was with payplan and found them very helpful but I echo what the previous poster said about keeping an eye on things - I had the '!!!!!!' moment when I realised interest was still being charged.

Good going Puzz! I too love my dmp. With no exaggeration I feel like my life has started again and I look to the future in a way I never used to (difficult to look at anything frankly with your head in the sand :)
