  • Thanks Habibiboo, had a lovely weekend thank you and I did find the cards, phew!

I spent yesterday squeezing in some of the jobs I didn't get round to last week so managed to fit in all of the new toys/books the kids got for their birthday, a few things can go to be sold in the next car boot/sale thing I do. Mind you I had to take them upstairs under the cover of darkness as the kids were really checking out what I was doing! My main jobs this week are uni work and the garden, both need some massive attention! I managed to sort out the thank you cards last night, just ordered one small packet of postcards and have sent all of the others via email. Not sure if this is the right etiquette but it sure is cheaper, especially as a few of the cards have to go abroad. I also managed to put my first item on flea bay…eek! Fingers crossed! With the ongoing cot saga DH has said he needs to dismantle both to check the screws as some have been reused as we moved from stage to stage, so I'll remove that from my to do list and its now on his! Yay!

    To do today:

    1. Hoover through and floors
    2. d/s bathroom
    3. washing out on line
    4. wash one load
    5. Tidy toys in d/r
    6. See if I can hack the books no longer needed into language books (ask my mum for help!)
    7. Packing list for hols
    8. ironing - still yuck

Hope everyones Monday is as sunny as it is here.:T

    Money Generating
No money updates…oh after a bit of scrabbling around found £12 of £co money to op! Off to do a very quick sweep and get more things for sale. 1hr devoted to selling, lets see what I can achieve!

    Money Saving
Went to Mr A today so oops not much in the way of saving done! Mainly bought stuff we need for holiday and some hair dye for a friend who lives aboard who I'm seeing on Sat. So if I take the 3 pairs of welly boots I bought and the hair dye off the bill it wasn't that bad! Lunch was a few treat bits, crisps and and a cake, stuff that I don't keep in the house. One of my kids has been ill and I'm trying to get them back into the habit of eating. Even with this extra shop I should still come in under budget for June, especially as we are away for the final few days. I think I will stick at this amount for July too as there are still bits in the freezer to be used up.

Today I want to turn a cupboard we have in the dining/playroom into a wardrobe for the dressing up clothes we have. I've bought a shower rail for £7 so fingers crossed it should be quite a quick and cheap project which the kids will like and will make more space in the house!

    Off to do something!

MIA for a couple of days, just busy.

    Money generating

Op'd B/card cash back yesterday, no bits at all on any of the selling pages - a couple of bids on the items on flea bay where I think I made a massive rookie error buy putting an item I thought I'd get £30 plus for on with a starting bid of 99p. When I went back to alter someone has already bid! Oh well it well it has just been gathering dust for the past few years so I guess giving it away isn't too bad. Fingers crossed there are more bids!!!!
I've seen a job (just temp) which starts in sept that I'm going to apply for. It would really work around the kids nursery hours and would generate some income for extra op's so I think I'm going to apply, if I can find my cv!

    Money Saving

We had to go for a parents evening to the nursery the kids are going to in Sept and so managed to sneak a little night out in with the DH. We just stayed local and walked home rather than getting a taxi which I guess was MSE but the money on beer wasn't so much!
Have been using up my store cupboards and freezer food this week so have been keeping spends to a minimum. Make some healthy flapjacks this morning for snacks and used up some manky looking potatoes for lunch with fillings. Not sure about dinner yet.

    To do today

    1. Apply for job
    2. Questionnaire done and interviews organised
    3. Finish amazon order
    4. Plan out kids travel activity books
    5. Map out business ideas
    6. Put clothes away
    7. Clean d/s bathroom

The dressing up wardrobe/old cupboard turned out great. I will need to buy a couple more cheap storage boxes from the Swedish giant when I next go but apart from that the kids are loving it and it has created more space or just organised some clutter, I'm not sure which one.

Managed to do 2 things off my list yesterday as it did not go to plan! I should be able to pick the other things off the list today as well as a few others.

    Money generating

    1. schedule flea bay sales to go live next week up to June's allowance.
    2. check to see if new kids sale dates are available/email to check
    3. bump my Facebook stuff - do it in the evening after kids bedtime
    4. Find £5 worth of stuff for MM

    Money saving

Confession time - I ordered Pizza last night (bad mummy) it had been a long day and, well I was shot. So today needs to be back on the wagon, we have 2 extra at lunch so need to pull something out of the bag pretty sharp.

    Onwards and upwards

    Hi all

not managed to update much in the last couple of days, just a busy weekend where we weren't in too much. I sold my first item on flea bay today!!! I'm on a high, especially as I didn't put a reserve on it and until this morning only had a bid of £1.04 on it when they normally sell for £25 plus…eeekkk. Luckily  (hear sarcasm) I've been up since 5 with a kid so I've been able to sit for 4 hours just pressing refresh and stressing. What a plonker I am. Anyway I've packaged it up and arranged for a courier thanks to MSE help and feeling a little smug with myself, lessons learnt. I've not managed to sell quite as much as I'd hoped this month so this sale has really motivated me again.

    Money generating

I've filled up my June allowance for flea bay and have scheduled them for while I'm away so I've got time when I return to sort any queries and postage etc. They are all pretty low value items but it all helps. I've not had much luck selling on fb recently or gt but I have some real nappies so might have a go with them as I don't think they would sell at very well at a table sale…I think that might be a July job. I want to get another parcel ready for MM which helps with money and removes clutter!
Not heard anything from that job yet, although the closing date was Friday I think they are interviewing today and tomorrow so it doesn't look too hopeful which is a little disappointing. EDIT - I've got an interview tomorrow!!!! yay!!!
We've done a little diary re-jigging to allow me to do another kids sale in August as I think I've enough to do one then and maybe in Sept/October time. I made £85 after table costs last time so it is worth doing.

    Money saving

last food shop of the month at the weekend which was larger than I would have liked but DH wanted some specific things and I ordered a few extras that were are offer for our hols so I'm happy.
No food spends is my aim till hols which are on Thursday which should be easy.

    To do
    1. washing - all of it and dried
    2. House - tidy and clean
    3. DL ready to take to the PO tomorrow
    4. Put washing away
    5. List for packing
    6. book foot appt for me

Off to enjoy the sunshine with the kids outside

Had a lovely day yesterday in the sun so some of the list suffered a little!

Had my interview today, it isn't a competitive post so thought I stood a good chance of being recruited. They were hoping to let me know today but I haven't heard anything…. fingers crossed they were just late making decisions. Since I've had the interview I want the job even more, it would be an ideal stepping stone for me and is so flexible it would fit around the kids nursery hours.
Anyway, 2 more items on flea bay sold so will package them up and send tomorrow once I've received the money and then op the profit!
I'm waiting for conformation on the table for the baby sale, fingers crossed she comes back soon to confirm.

    Money saving

I was soooo tempted to buy in a quick tea tonight or takeaway but I have resisted and instead we've had an 'ifits' dinner (if its in we'll eat it!).

Not much else to report really

    To do tonight
    1. kids travel activities
    2. packing list
    3. order last bits and bobs for holiday
    4. package up sold items

I've been thinking today about the kinds of things I want to achieve and I think I will be giving myself NSD challenges in July and also adding some weight loss and exercise targets too.

Good idea to schedule eBay starts while you are on holiday. - I didn't think of doing that. My plan is to come back off from my holiday, get all the washing and ironing done, and then start eBaying again with renewed zest!

These days, it seems quite normal that potential employers don't get back to you when they say they will. I remember a couple of weeks ago, Secret Saving Squirrel hadn't heard the outcome of her interview... But she still got the job! So there's still hope, will keep my fingers crossed.
