Just to say hi and good luck to you ... I shall be watching with interest to see how you get on with GT as I'm tending to go towards that rather than Fleabay now, for bigger items as I just can't get on with Fleabay any more, it's sapped all my strength!
And lovely little ones too, enjoy, enjoy, tantrums and all ... before you know it they'll be flying the nest and you'll be mortgage free!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Sold an item late last night that I'd already put on f.b so thats another £10 for the pot. I think I'll sort my signature out today so I can keep track. Anyway list for today -
1. menu planning - didn't get it done yesterday
2. order and print off cake toppers for cakes
3. post parcel
4. wash bedding as I think the weather is looking good today so should get it dried on the line
5. Do some work for uni!!!!! - more to do this evening
6. pics for cots on GT
7. Freezer and cupboard audit
8. hoover through
9. shampoo kids carpet
10. Clean bathrooms
11. Earth up potatoes - done
12. sort out veg bed 3 and cover up as kids/cat combo are ruining them! - I've weeded and left as ran out of time. Will put seeds in tomorrow, as nothing has really grown - because of the cat/kids combo but did shove in the last few bean plants today
13. plant more seeds in g/house - this evening
14. weed where possible - weeded the last 4 veg beds and part of path - still a depressing amount to do. I hope the weather holds for the next few days.
Gosh that looks a big list already better get going!
Hope everyone else has a lovely day it looks like it might be a hot one!:TGC Feb - £190/£200

Hi Habibiboo
Thanks for dropping by, you are right about the kids, they are growing up so fast and as they are both the same age we are whizzing through the stages so fast, nursery and school beckons already and it doesn't seem like two minutes since we brought them home.GC Feb - £190/£200

Whitesnowdrop, how much have you got left on your mortgage? I don't think you mentioned it.Mortgage - £105,5000

Hi PricessLou, we have £154k left, we had a pretty big mortgage right at the peak of the market. It was fine in terms of affordability but since we've taken it out we've got married, had a few holidays, cars, changed jobs and kids so although we've always overpaid sometimes it wasn't much. Its now that we are trying to really get rid of it with real focus.
Just been out in the garden with the kids, I managed to get a few jobs done, it worked out best in the end if I just filled a trug full of water and let them water the garden, it all ended rather suddenly when my little lad used his hat as a watering can…. think there was something on tv yesterday that may have triggered this????? Now I just need to decide what to do for dinner!GC Feb - £190/£200

Hi whitesnowdrop just spotted your new diary and thought I'd say hi
best of luck with the oping, it should be much easier with the kids being younger and less demanding , I also have twins (boys) but they are at the less cute stage of 13 :rotfl:
I wish I'd been as sensible as you by oping right from the start of the mortgage, I'm sure now you have a diary it will be even more motivation for you.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Thanks Newgirly, lovely to have all these people popping in to say hi. Before I had twins I used to think they were quite rare but nowadays all I see are twins! I remember my brothers at 13…. yummy bedrooms as I remember and an ongoing war with showers till they find girls and then can't stop with the aftershave!
We both had houses before we bought one together but both did well out of the boom and although we didn't overpay the profits did help towards the purchase of this property. Having said that we have both wasted an awful lot of money along the way but should still finish this mortgage before the original 25 years of our first mortgages if that make any sense at all???
I'm hoping the diary will give me the consistency that I think is absolutely necessary to clear the mortgage.GC Feb - £190/£200

Today is all about uni! So no great money making schemes to be had unfortunately. I sold a few books yesterday so I did make £10 and need to post them on Monday. I will go and do some shopping tonight as we have no veg whatsoever but hope to keep spends to an absolute minimum.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!:jGC Feb - £190/£200

We're targeting the grocery bills with a real focus on growing our own W*S ... not only is it starting to make a difference, it's also so much more satisfying!
Is your garden big enough to set some aside to grow a few things?
You don't have to go all at it at once (unless you want to as a major MFW project) you could just start with maybe a few tomato plants this year, salad leaves as well next year etc ...? We started by thinking about what we eat a lot of and what would be convenient to just wander up the garden to grab for our dinners, instead of popping out to the shops and spending an inevitable £10+ each time.
I know you've got lots on with the kids and uni etc, but if I remember rightly, you'd have a bit of assistance from a couple of willing helpers, especially for watering the plants ... sun hats and all :rotfl:Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
