Hello Matthew & Emily - it's great to have you both on the board, so to speak. :) Please could you repeat your post on the Bankruptcy sub-forum here, as not everyone on that board comes to this one. Thanks. :)

Hi Mathew and welcome, you sure are going to be busy..

a quick one for you (or maybe not), ive been on a dmp with the cccs for just short of two years now, i owe around £55,000 with a monthly payment of £560. i was wondering if most creditors normaly allow the dmp to run without charges and interest for longer periods of say 5-10 yrs untill the dept is clear??..

i ask this as i now may have the equity needed in my home to pay them off thats if i could get a re-mortage whilst on a dmp.

i have a baby due and i am concerned about suddenly having creditors tern on me, i have kept to my dmp and did increase it by 25% in the second year. my biggest creditor is natwest at about 22k what are they like long term..

i have herd that some creditors are changing there policy with debts Royal bank of Scotland being one, which are i think part of natwest
    cheers

As you will know creditors are under no obligation to stop interest, although many of them do once you are on a DMP. Without trying to be too vague, I'm not really in the position to say either way as it depends on whether the creditors would or would not continue to freeze the interest for the duration of the DMP as it is completely up to the creditor. Increasing the surplus over time, like you've done before is always a good way in which you are showing willing to the creditors which will always reflect better on yourself!

It maybe beneficial for you to have a review of your circumstances to have a chat about things? It's obviously difficult to look at your situation without seeing the big picture and also the advice we give here cannot breach the Data Protection Act.

    Regards,
    CCCS
