MET parking charge?!?
Comments
-
Hi guys. Long story short here. Trying to sort this out with popla who sent back rejecting letter due to a wrong reference code or something and now Met sent another letter threatening to send bailiffs round. Is this possible as this is a non enforceable charge? Thanks all0
-
The letter is as follows.
If full payment of this charge has not been made within 7 days of this notice being issued further action may be taken, such as the instruction of solicitors/debt recovery agents to secure immediate payment or the issuing of court proceedings which could incur further costs. To avoid further unnecessary costs and action, please pay the outstanding parking charge amount as stated above, in accordance with the parking terms and conditions.
Further information including how to pay, the right to appeal (please be advised that the independent appeals service (popla) is no longer available), etc can be found on the reverse of the notice.0 -

More important is why POPLA kicked this out - who put the POPLA code on the form, MET?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They sent it back due to an incorrect code for the parking charge etc. I copied down what met gave me and the popla code also to cover all bases. I'll recheck numbers and send to popla and the link mentioned above. Thanks guys
Literally got threat letter yesterday. Twice its been Sent back now. Got the popla rejection due to wrong code last week say.0 -
So you need to push through the POPLA appeal - you haven't had a rejection, you've been told a number is wrong. Put it right urgently, this is important.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Looked up the number and it's apparently 431 days old yet it only happened 3 months ago0
-
So who has got it wrong - if the PPC sent you the wrong code then send an email complaint to the POPLA Liaison Officer at the BPA, Gemma Ridgewell:

Hi all,
have looked through old paperwork and it seems I have been sent two different reference numbers by POPLA. I have emailed gemma above to see what happens now. However both these numbers where generated minimum of 1 year before my offence!! strange.
MET are now sending red letters stating notification of liability.
These red letters look ever so worrying haha0
