Used to disguise the word c*** when out in public.
    e.g.
I couldn't take anymore of her yapp'n so I dropped the C-Bomb on her... she slapped me in the face and we haven't talked since. Works everytime.

As for things we would like to say....and this is a bit unkind especially as I am into sci fi and stuff myself, this was for an item commonly used by LARP players (live action role player) that's sold many years ago. It is worn but size is immaterial as it is not clothing.

I had sold a few with no problems but got an irate email from a woman saying it was useless, rubbish, designed for a midget and she was going to tell everyone she knew I was a thief and scammer. I have taken out the rude rambling and frankly incoherent bits.

My response was of course 'apologies for your inconvenience please return it for a full refund'.

What I wanted to say was :

Everyone else has been delighted with the product but not you, that leads be to believe that you are in fact a 40 year old obese woman sitting in a dark room on the computer 20 hours a day pretending to be a sylph like 18 year old 'fairy princess' . Your mother has told you that you can't afford to buy any more rubbish from the internet and you ought to have a good bath and go outside once in a while so you are now throwing a sulk and pretending the item is unsuitable. Also I suspect that you will be too engrossed in your latest epic romp through some imaginary online city to actually be bothered to get some clothes on and take this back to the Post Office.

  • So I will wait and see...

I might start keeping a diary though entitled:

'Diary of an Ebay Seller in 2014 .... What I Really Want to Say & What I Had To Say !'

Would love to hear any other sellers stories as Amber Sunshine suggests as knowing I'm not alone might just [STRIKE]stop me reaching for the wine [/STRIKE]keep me sane !

    TFAC x

I listed an "item" stating it was bought from Primark.

Neg Feedback left was " not good quality"

I replied stating "full refund was offered on return of item"

    What I wanted to say was;

    "Primark NOT Prada"
Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay

Oh Soolin lol I just nearly spat my coffee all over the floor reading that !
It's weird but hearing it's not just me getting the odd [STRIKE]THIEF, SCAMMER, IDIOT, MISERABLE GIT, ANGRY WEIRDO[/STRIKE] customer does genuinely make me laugh out loud, forget it and move on to another day.
(That and the lovely customer I had earlier who is the type of customer that makes it all worthwhile) :T
I do need to create a signature though that has something to do with liking smilies and drinking nice coffee x
  • I would like to disagree with some of the replies here.
I also sell on eBay, but just if I see something that I think would sell.
Otherwise I don't take any chances.
But to come back to the topic.
I sell most of the time about 10 to 50 items from something.
I calculate in this that at least 1 or 2 buyers are going to complaint.
And they need full refund without returning the item.
I also asked once to return the item, because I was 100% sure that the item was exactly as described.
But at the end they did not return the item, eBay decided to refund in full. And I got negative feedback.

My advice is: think that at least 10% of the buyers is trying to scam you. (better safe than sorry)
Never start any discussion with a buyer.
And react the same as a big shop, the customer is always right.
(Even if they are not, anyway you're the only one who loose.)
But don't forget to block the buyer, so they cannot buy from you any more.

Little extra tip; as soon as you sell something more expensive, make sure you send it tracked or signed for. (it will scare the scammers)

I can understand what you are saying, but I think it depends on what you sell
High value electronics will always attract scammers/thieves more than say a £5-£10 kitchen item for example

I always go with my instinct and I reckon I've had maybe 3 to 4 scammers in every 1000 transactions on average, but then again my items don't sell for hundreds of pounds !
I stopped stocking/selling any items over £50 as it's just not worth the risk anymore and no matter whether its a good price or not, some buyers just don't want to fork out for special/signed/tracked etc. as it really only protects the seller

As a buyer how many times have you looked to buy an item and the cost has put you off as the seller will only send tracked/signed/special etc. (no option for standard post) when the price doubles because the seller feels/needs/wants to protect themselves ?
I know I have ended up sometimes not buying as I feel am paying extra to protect the seller and although I know others will care to differ I often make the choice not to buy

I fully understand this from a seller point of view as too many [STRIKE]scammers thieves[/STRIKE] INR claims so it really is an subject that will continue to go on...
