    Hello Asset.

I was wondering if you could sit at the back as well? It may make you feel calmer to know that you can slip out of the service if it gets too much for you. I would say that most (all?) people would be very understanding about someone being upset at a funeral. (I would hope so, anyhow!) People understand that it's a 'triggering' event. Also, for me, funerals tend to go by in a bit of a blur. I think most people are so wrapped up with how they are feeling and the detail of the service that they are not so aware of other people (except the people you are closest to, IYSWIM). I just don't want you to imagine/feel that you are being a burden, especially when it's quite natural to cry/be upset.

Your bf is the key to this, really. If it were my OH then I think he'd like me to be there regardless as it would just make him feel better. If you explain your worries to him then hopefully that will decrease some of the worry/emotion for you. Then maybe offer to compromise - sit at the back where you'll feel 'safe' (again, this ought to lessen your emotional load) and agree that it's fine for you to leave if you need to. I was thinking back to a recent funeral and I found my OH most helpful/comforting in the time that you're waiting to go into the funeral. Once we were in there it was fine. Then again, afterwards, it was nice to have him with me at the wake. So, you could be a wonderfully supportive gf immediately before and after the funeral :) The best case scenario is that you come out feeling that you managed the service ok (knowing that you could leave) and then that will lessen your worry the next time you need to go to a funeral (hopefully not for a very long time...)

Having said all of that, I do believe that if you feel something is too much for you then it's good to listen to your instincts and there would be nothing wrong with you not going.

Best of luck deciding what to do. We're all thinking of you :)

    Wil xx

Asset I hope you're ok, I would agree that if it's going to be too much for you, then ask your boyfriend to explain your absence, if he isn't comfortable with that or if you prefer, I would personally buy a very pretty card and write explaining why you aren't there, his family would understand I'm sure, and they'd appreciate the trouble you'd gone to in writing to them so personally xx
kadison good luck on your date tonight, we're expecting to hear all about it (and him!) though, you do realise?!

He's three years younger than me and he constructs long-range weather forecast models for a living, and he's lush and I can't wait for later :D:D:D

Thanks clutterfree and FizzWizz, I'm in Ukraine, but unfortunately it's work rather than pleasure - wouldn't have minded the early start so much for a holiday!

dolly I too love the Ojon damage reverse - I'm onto my last duo and they're spluttering like mad. I'm really balking at the price but think I may eventually treat myself if they come onto a decent GWP promo as they do make a big difference to my hair.

Right, a couple more UUs from me before bedtime, and more expected in the morning too:

5/123. Sanctuary body scrub 50ml - one of my HG scrubs, have a full size in use too.

6/124. L'Occitane Essential Water 30ml - WNBA, I'm on the fence about the fragrance and didn't feel that it did much for me as a toner. Annoyingly I brought this on my trip with a good centimetre left in the bottle and it somehow managed to spray all but the last drops all into my (admittedly very crammed - perils of carry-on!) wash bag. The saving grace was that the entire lot seems to have sprayed into one cotton wool ball so no cleaning up to be done and I was still able to use it :D

I was wondering where VALM had disappeared to, too - I don't recall mention of a holiday? Hope she's ok.

kadison, I'll resist the temptation to pun about high pressure and warm fronts :rotfl:

dolly, I feel as though I have tried virtually every styling product to tame my frizz; tbh it's not THAT bad, mainly just canopy fuzz on day 2+ hair, but your comment got me thinking and in a moment of post-work migraine-and-hormone-induced weakness I have yet another IN :o

Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl 150ml; this is a combined serum and curl cream which my stylist used after my last cut, was tempted then but caved today.

Will update my numbers tomorrow, head's still banging, bedtime for me. N'night Beauty Queens xx

I typed a whole line of hand clappy smilies, but for some reason they didn't appear!

    Great news.
