Of course it should be 50/50, you will be using 50% of the amenities therefore should pay 50%of it
It's not his fault your job isnt as well paid as his why should he pay more0 -
And I'm sorry but women DO do most of the housework and childcare: always have, always will, and men will almost always be the higher earners. People can deny that if they like. It's still true.
). Naturally I then had to clean the kitchen and wash up all of the bowls and utensils.
I do all of the hoovering and mopping, and the vast majority of the washing-up, rubbish and recycling. Sometimes my partner will take a couple of hours on the weekend to do a deeper clean of the kitchen, or of her bathroom, but this is only about once a month. (Frankly, she should be cleaning up her studio, as it's an absolute pigsty! But she's... resistant to my gentle prodding on the subject)
I don't even like the terms "husband" and "wife", as having different names implies different responsibilities. My OH and I are partners. I do the cooking, and she does the eating!
We're aiming to have a baby at the end of September 2015, and it will entirely depend on our circumstances and how we can adjust our jobs as to who can take care of the baby during the daytime - not on what meat we happen to carry in our pants. Best place to carry corned beef, IMO. Gives it that "tang".
Do you mind if I ask how old you are? I'm 32, and your views seem extremely old-fashioned to me. Or it might not be a generational thing, and you're just incredibly sexist?Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?

This thread has reminded me that I need to tackle my wife about how much she contributes, at the moment on the things that I think we should share (others like sports memberships are excluded) she pays just under £4k and I pay just over £10k a year. I am going to suggest that we set up a joint account and pay bills from that.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0

Do you mind if I ask - what happens to her money that she isn't currently contributing? And what happens to your money that you aren't currently contributing?Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?

She's right, research and stats show time and time again that women, in general, do the majority of the domestic chores when they live with men. Google it.
Why would you think your relationship is representative of every other?0 -

You and (s)he are making the assumptions. I was just demonstrating that jaylee3's was wrong. I'll now demonstrate that yours is wrong by saying: I don't think my relationship is representative of every other. Quite the opposite, in fact.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?

Then why did you describe your relationship as a way to counter the general trend? If you know you're an outlier, what was the point of bringing it up?0 -
