Hmph, van went in for new tyres and we've discovered the front coil spring is broken. Booked in for Monday, that'll be £300 - £400. OH could do it but it would take him all day and it's only about £150 - £200 for labour so wouldn't save that much. Feels like one thing after another with vehicles at the moment.

Still, we can afford it, just means less to savings so I shouldn't grumble.

Original buyer is still interested in fish tank so hoping that will be collected Saturday.

Builder won't be here today, his job earlier this week was delayed so he needs to finish that. Need to call him to discuss when the job will be finished as I suspect we will end up sliding down the priority list if we are too accommodating!

Went to our local pub for lunch yesterday - it closed as no-one was using it (think that was as much to do with the landlord who was rather obnoxious!) but has reopened with new managers. Lunch was good and pretty reasonable so I think we'll be back there.

Gave them some feedback - chips were lovely (triple cooked), home made coleslaw was lush but the previously frozen burger bun let the meal down a bit; feedback was received in good grace. I think we need to be better in this country about giving feedback and as I get older I get less embarrassed about doing so. If no-one tells them, things won't improve!

    £7.50 from metal recycling OPd.

    Still got the fishtank, grrr.

Complete money overhaul coming up, am going to really interrogate our spending and get it under control, too many unplanned and unconscious purchases coupled with massive grocery bill (even after setting myself a challenge this month) means we are only breaking even each month and nothing is going to renovation fund.

Bought a garden shredder last week, it's absolutely rubbish so that's going back tonight. Hope to have it credited before credit card statement is raised otherwise will have to pay that in October to get it back in November.

As everything goes on the credit card which is paid off in full each month, October will not be a good month but I will have it under control for November!!

Good news is the van was not as expensive as feared because it was a bearing not the spring so £150 instead of £300.

Hi Lucky, it will be amazing one day, right now it is in need of a lot of work, however the location is fantastic. Close enough to the Thames Valley and Bristol for work, rural enough to be very peaceful and amazing views.

Still haven't sold the fish tank, will list it on Facebook next week I think.

Got about £60 to OP that I am aware of this month. Need to up this!

Stoozing is going well and is paying about £90 a month off the capital. OH is going to do the same so we should make a bit of a dent.

Fair comment, but I don't have anything like as much progress as you to share, hoping you will spur me on. x

New mobile phone ordered this morning, have needed one for a while but was hoping to last for a few more months, however old phone is failing to charge and the GPS function isn't working well so become a bit more urgent.

My procrastination has saved me £15 as the price has gone down for some reason since I checked a month ago. Cashback has tracked - yay.
