Hmmm careful if you were thinking of entering The National Lottery Twitter Comp

So they're going to look at every entrants Twitter account and work out whether 50% of their tweets are competitions?
They'll look at the last few and exclude people.
Surely they'll just look at the timelines of the people picked out as winners? Then if any are compers, eliminate and re-pick?0 -
Glad I do like champagne so could I have Sax's share please!
I'll save it to celebrate the start of the Advents in 185 days time!
Hmmmmm...Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.
(Wisdom, Courage, Self-control, Justice)
Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -
They'll probably get hounded now on Twitter by compers... :rotfl:
With lotto ticket sales down close to 50% since they doubled the price to £2 they need to keep every [STRIKE]mug[/STRIKE] customer they can so it seems strange to take an action which will almost certainly alienate a group of potential/actual customers without any offsetting benefit for doing so.0 -
Seems fair to me, their comp their rules.
If i owned a company i would ban serial compers aswell, far too many who comp full time, or pretend they are so ill they cant possibly work, even though they spend hours entering comps every day.
Oh my! you are such a ray of sunshine arnt you? bumped into you on two threads now and all you've done is grumble about comping/compers!
urrrghh.... I would hate to lead such a life of misery!
Smile or say something nice would you? it might make you feel better!!! :rotfl:April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0 -

It will be interesting come end of year reports the effect that increasing the price has had. I've bought a lot less since they went up in price, and a lot less Instants as well - I used to think of the scratch cards and tickets at the same time, and now I think of neither. I'm sure lots of people are like that.
It is odd for a company that is essentially running competitions for a living to eliminate those who enter them.0 -

But be mindful of their terms and conditions if you enter in particular the section that reads:
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry to serial competition entrants. The Promoter will have ultimate and final say on who fits those criteria, but as a rule, anyone with over 50% of their Twitter communications as entries into competitions may face disqualification. The Promoter's decision is final.
(I have called and left an answerphone message for the legal team at IPM about it - as it doesn't seem right or legal to me - I'll let you know what I hear back)
Not sure theres any rules that say they cant say that in their terms unfortunately - I don't think anyone should be excluded from entering a competition - very unfair!April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0 -
