Why is my water bill so much (NON METERED)

My assessed charge is based on the number of bedrooms we have even though we have three bedrooms but only two people using one each. Doesn't seem fair to charge us for the third unused bedroom.
We also have a shared supply and no way to put a meter in because the stop !!!! inside is inaccessible!0 -

Yes, OK, I stand corrected. Assessed charges are at least partly based on number of bedrooms.
It's just that southcoast has the sig "If I think you are wrong I WILL tell you" so, when he's wrong, I DO like to tell him !0 -
I believe some water companies have their assessed charge based on bedrooms and other companies on number of occupants.
Also even some of those with charges based on number of bedrooms will have a single occupant assessed charge.0 -

Yes, but they don't fit meters when there is a shared common storage tank, do they ?0 -

fair enough but i don't think I am wrong, as you have just admitted on one point, I'm still not sure why you keep insisting there is a shared water tank, the OP hasn't said if there is or isn'tI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Duh ? ! I don't say there is a shared water tank - I say the Water Co won't fit a meter if there is. You say they CAN.

Sorry, I've got a headache.0 -
Water charges vary by a huge amount across the UK. That said I cannot see any assessed charge being £600 pa for 2 people.
South West Water wanted £1000 pa from me before I was on a meter, that was for 2 people and I didn't have a washing machine, dish washer etc.
I had the meter put in and my bill was approximately £45 per quarter0 -
In Greater London I was paying £24 a month none metered not on the south coast (SE) I pay £29, both are 1 bed flats.Debt slowly coming down.[STRIKE] DRO off credit report July 2015![/STRIKE] credit history getting better!0
