Is there a new design or anything accompanying the card that indicates why it was suspended and re-launched (come July 1st)?

OK, it's 23 June and the replacement cards are now valid. I've successfully changed the PIN on mine.

I also have a Barclaycard (ex-Egg) and expected to see the HHonors card listed when I logged on to my account at mybarclaycard. No sign of it.

So I'm wondering if anyone's HHonors card been successfully merged with an existing account?

Mine and OH's HHonors cards appeared in our respective "my barclaycard's" this morning!

The design looks pretty much the same, apart from
    • the new one says HILTON HHONORS while the old one says HHONORS HILTON WORLDWIDE
    • I am now FRUIT AND NUT CASE rather than MR FRUIT AND NUT CASE
    • it's now contactless
Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Thanks. I'm off abroad from tomorrow so I'll chase them up when I get back.

I'm curious as to what the changes have been behind the scenes. From a consumer perspective changes have been minimal other than the contactless and harmonising with My Barclaycard which doesnt really feel as if it would require new card numbers to be issued.

For those that have tied up their accounts, can you see all your historic transactions etc via the new portal or not? I could understand the new numbers if it was to avoid a data migration but if history there it remains an oddity to me

I can't on the mybarclaycard app, but all my old statements are visible online. All the transactions have a small icon of a credit card with a red x next to it, which when clicked on state "These transactions were made on a previous card ending #### which was replaced on 23 June 2014".

Only thing I can think of is that it's some sort of Barclaycard back office harmonisation exercise, seeing as the card numbers now start 4929 like all other barclaycard's do, which they didn't before.

that is what i think it is..

and the card is now available again. but only via barclaycard.co.uk not hhonorscard.co.uk

while we're at it, anyone know how long 'Free Night Certificates' actually last? do they expire?

Unless it's changed, the free night cert lasts six months from when it's issued - not from when the £750 is met, but when you get the email from BC.

Worth giving Hilton HHonors a ring - the certificate doesn't show in your online account, but their CS reps will be able to see it ('Barclays Free Night Certificate').
