My new card (and PIN strangely) arrived yesterday in the post, with a sticker to say it cannot be used until 23/7/14.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
plenty of time to wait....but you have a previous, working version in your wallet to use until then?0

I just had a text this afternoon to say that my new Barclaycard should be with me within two working days. I presume this is the replacement HHonors one.I have a hhonnor visa card currently (which is serviced by Barclaycard). I just had a text this morning to say a new card is on its way to me. As this is my only Barclay type credit card I presume it's a new hhonor one. Not aware of a tie up with AmEx.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

I got the same text and assume the same, since neither of my two Barclaycards are anywhere near expiring!0 -
yes, sounds like it..
you guys obviously have, and have retained, the card. are you finding them useful, and generating points effectively? and do you find the service to be good?
i found them to be good, previously. better than general Barclaycard service...but i wonder if part of the change will be that this becomes a Barclaycard-managed card, along with the change to accessing via barclaycard.co.uk0 -
i am just spending on the Hi5, and waiting (more than patiently) for them to pull it....then trying to simplify my file, and then probably looking to apply for a second HHonors Visa account. i think it's the best back up to Amex Cashback for me.0

I've kept it, but I'm not really sure why - it was great for the intro bonus (10k points + 2.5k for each of the four stays + 1x free night at any Hilton), and the ongoing earning isn't bad, but I'm not convinced it's worth it purely to earn points.
Keeping it for Silver isn't really relevant to me as I'm HH Gold anyway, though if I was likely to lose Gold keeping Silver may be a very slight benefit for extra points earning and not getting a room with a view of the bins...!
IHG's paid card with the guaranteed Platinum is a decent bet for £99, if there was an equivalent HHonors card with an annual fee and guaranteed Gold/Diamond I'd definitely consider it (don't stay nearly often enough for Diamond and can struggle to retain Gold).0 -
thanks.
yes, i am currently HHonors Gold...but that is largely as a result of spending on the card in the past. that is due to expire next March.
i do think that it's good to get access to the lounges. i had one stay in London when i had a couple of people coming to see me at the hotel, and it was great to be able to sit in there and snack on canapes and drink bottles of Becks:beer:0 -
OK, it's 23 June and the replacement cards are now valid. I've successfully changed the PIN on mine.
I also have a Barclaycard (ex-Egg) and expected to see the HHonors card listed when I logged on to my account at mybarclaycard. No sign of it.
So I'm wondering if anyone's HHonors card been successfully merged with an existing account? Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
