Would You Buy a House with a BBQ Next Door?
Comments
-
My neighbours barbeque several times a week in good weather. The smell really annoys me and sometimes they are noisy. Apart from this they are lovely neighbours so I wouldn't dream of saying anything any more than I would say anything to the lovely people on the other side who regularly cook curry which I dislike the smell of, especially at 8am ! They sometimes have slightly noisy family parties too !
It's all part of the 'joy' of living in a small house close to other small houses if I could afford to have more space I certainly would. However, as I mentioned my neighbours are lovely and it takes a bit of give and take to live near each other. I expect my dogs and chickens may annoy them sometimes !
Anyone looking around our house, wouldn't be able to tell there were BBQ'ers one side or curry lovers the other sideWhereas I have an idea that many brick built BBQ's are often unused so there's not really a way of telling what neighbours are like unless you spend a whole summer spying around an area at all times of day !

I thought the first post was a spoof on the flurry of "would you buy a house with...." posts that have popped up recently but the replies have been pricelessI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Call me a bore but I am not a fan of typical urban British barbie culture. I think it can, in some cases, be indicative of a lifestyle/type of person that i might choose to avoid.
It could be that i am eternally practical and cannot see the benefit of smoke, smell, fmales for a couple of hours, burned meat, loud bawdy drunkeness and all contained in a comparatively small back yard/garden.
It isnt quite shrimps on the barbie in Summer bay is it?
Anyway back to houses...if i saw one i would make a mental note taking into account its size, location and the size of the garden.
Its just me. Please dont be put off using your barbie if you get enjoyment from it..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
