A BBQ would put me off, especially if it was used regularly.
Similarly, I would not wish to live near a takeaway.0 -

I'd see it as a plus.
I love the smell of BBQ's.*Assuming you're in England or Wales.0 -
It'd put me off. You know there'll be stinky smoke and you'll have to shut the windows when the weather's good .... and anybody with a brick built one's not going to sit, silently, alone, barbecuing a single burger ... they'll have friends/family, beers, music and noise.... then sit outside until 11pm at night screeching.
It can be hard to enjoy your own outdoor space with that going on so close. You almost feel "guilty" for sitting out there in case they think that you think they should have invited you and are sitting outside as a hint.0 -

Nope, wouldn't worry me at all. Just having a brick BBQ doesn't mean the owners are having large BBQ parties all the time (and with our british weather it is unlikely to be that often!) Plus, even if you picked a house without a BBQ next door, the owners might be just as likely to have large get togethers, play music, etc etc...0

From my experience the majority of people BBQ in the summer and with gas being so popular now I'd argue that many of those having the most BBQs aren't going to have a brick BBQ but instead a gas one they can wheel out or keep under a cover.0
