Allowing unrestricted trade and free markets in goods, services and people, and enabling the UK to have what is currently the strongest economic growth of any major economy.
When we are already short of immigrants, short of young breeding age people, and have an immigration system that works well with little cost to administer, why replace it with a cumbersome, bureaucratic, politically charged and expensive to run system that will be prone to endless meddling and tinkering by politicians?
Something like 99% of current immigrants are good for the country.
Replacing the current system with one that requires badly needed people to jump through hoops to get here is pointless, and amounts to throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
If anything we need more EU immigrants, and to make it easier for young people to move here, not harder.
See above.
See, actually. I agree with a precious poster that the 'refusal to listen' argument furthers the ' anti eu feeling'.
And I don't know in an open eu going the way Europe want it with MORE integration we would need more immigration, not to benefit us and Europe as a while. Easy movement, perhaps even being in different areas for different times of life being increasingly common....0 -

What it is you even want, do you even know?
You are living in a bubble -- trust me, you are.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Ok - what is going on outside of London ?0 -
setmefree2 wrote: »So what's the first issue?
One of the main issues is that decades of governments have benefited from immigrants and not done enough to improve the infrastructure of the country. The growing poverty gap is also a serious consideration.0 -

It is not about kicking out ladders, it is about doing what is best for the UK. Many immigrants are good for the country, some are not and we should be in a position to chose which enter.
Why is that such a difficult concept?
Well to be honest immigrants tend to come to London not say Wyndham Norfolk - so why do you guys get to chose who enters Britain?0 -

I'm listening and I can't understand what people want or what is wrong? I'm sure politicians are having the same problems!0
