It's not just on eBay

I agree.
A lifetime working in a customer service industry has taught me that there are a lot of dim people out thereEarly retired - 18th December 2014

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." - HL MenckenI think it applies to more that just Americans too.Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0

A few years ago I used to manage a team of customer service people for a large electrical manufacturer. I was the 'I want to speak to a manager' person...
At least once a week I would get some irate person saying 'Your plug doesn't fit in any of the sockets in my house..' usually elaborated about how every other plug in the world fits, they've just had the house rewired, etc etc.
The standard response was 'have you taken the protective plastic piece off the pins of the plug?'... closely followed by silence and usually the phone going down ... :rotfl:0 -
So am I unusual in that, when I win an ebay item bidding impulsively, then discover the bargain cheap item is actually "collection only" 200 miles away, I just sigh heavily and write off a day to make the journey?0

Very, very true. I worked in hospitality for 13 years and was frequently astounded at the breathtaking stupidity of the general public. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Today I was asked by a man (in his 50's, well educated, good job etc) at what temperature does water boil at. He hadn't forgotten, he genuinely didn't know what it was in Centigrade or Fahrenheit :mad:0 -

Shocking. Everyone knows water won't boil in Farenheit.0 -

And a lot of them turned out to vote last Thursday......'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0
