Ive barely slept. Shes got worse I think. Evrrything she eats comes out within 2 hrs. She has eaten some poached chicken but nothing else nor water. As soon as vet opens im whisking her in.

I've recently had a 'rescue' cat, vet diagnosed a gastric problem - colitis due to stress.

So, apart from the special prescription sachets, I picked grass for her - it something cats seem to like to help with digestion, and fur balls. This was before she was confident to go out - that took seven weeks!
Same again, if she's had a retching fit - but not sick, but now she goes out, can select her own grass, no more of either problem.

Vet won't see me until 2.30. Interesting catman about colitis. I had a guinea pig with it once and Imogen's poo is of a similar texture. I just hope the vet can do soemthing. She's only got up once this AM and that was to do another runny tiny loo.

Yes that fits but with a sort of glutinous mucous with it !?

    Good luck.

Yes. Vet didn't want to see pics on Sunday. Am going to insist she looks at them today.

Won't help with the immediate problem, but is she up to date with worming?
Could you take a poo sample into the vets for them to analyse for campylobacter etc.?

Thanks for replies. Phoned vet and said I wanted her seen urgently. They took her in straight away. They didn;t say 'colitis' but did say it was her colon. Have Panacur, Canigest and Synulox to give her orally. Fingers crossed.

She was apparently wormed 2 weeks ago, but the Panacur will help to cover that.

Fingers crossed. Despite the problems she has put on 25g since Sunday. Feel more relieved now she has meds. And this vet was interested in the pics of her poo. I have to collect samples and take them in if her poo doesn't start to improve in 3 days.

Really sorry about your kitten, hope she gets well soon....xxx

Can you expand on this one?
Breeder says she was fine before I took her yesterday, so at least I caught it early

You said the kitty is 8 weeks old and you use the word "breeder" - what do you know about that "breeder"?

I find it difficult to believe any decent breeder would let a kitty go at 8 weeks, they normally keep them with mums a bit longer.

Kitty was sick pretty much from the moment you brought her home - to me it looks like she was not well when you picked her up already. No matter what "breeder" says.

    Is your cat a pedigree?

The reason I mention all that - this can possibly impact on your ability to insure the kitty as may be classed as pre-existing condition and be excluded for the future.

Fingers crossed she gets well soon but I would be very wary of anyone telling me a kitten taken from them got suddenly sick the moment I picked it up and claiming it was fine before.
