So not only is Swoggi scamming consumers they are also in cahoots with (or own?) a site which is passing itself off as this one. Trading Standards should get this site and any associated sites shut down immediately. I was scammed for £50 and I don't expect to get it back. I just wished I had come on here first to check them out. They are nothing better than pickpockets they way their Paypal checkout works - you don't honestly know you have paid anything, let alone how much. Martin - please talk about these sites next time you are on the radio or TV. In the meantime I am launching a complaint with the OFT.
I too fell foul for the above. I thought because of the website it was kosher. I also believe Trading Standards should get onto them. I will try to alert TS. Have you?0 -
Having read an article in the Daily Mail, I thought I would give it a try!
I have not been a member long , but soon realised something was wrong when I spotted a so called couple if bidders spending far more than the item was worth. This was to keep mugs like me playing.
Also why in earth would anyone pay over £300 fir an item costing £50.
Some if the names are fictitious and created by Swoggi!
It makes no sense using the bid robot continuously , it costs a fortune and does not guarantee the item.
Some auctions I noticed were being win by the phantom bidders, in other words there was no auction in the first place.
I have contacted the trading standards and would urge everyone to do the same.0 -
I remember as a child one person said if its too good to be true then it is and these sites are , The attraction of you can get a Ipad Air for £56 is such a selling point but under the dark cover of all this they are simple but yet addictive game sites that make you buy credits that are non refundable , I was lucky enough not to sign up after reading this and i feel sorry for everyone on here that got subdued by this crap and i hope you all get your money back.
As a IT expert after doing a record check on the both the web address supplied bu both swogii and moneyexpert360 they both seem to be owned by two different companies one in london and the other in oxford , never the less that's not saying that they are not linked in anyway or are reciving money for advertising it all seems a bit fishy to me
so stay clear they are SCAMS!!!!:money:0 -
I am sorry to have to admit am another mug taken in by Swoggi.
Following a link from the Daily Mail website singing the praises of Swoggi I was daft enough to go through the sign up process. The original site "helpfully" suggested using a validation code VIP50. I thought this was a voucher to obtain free credits.
I used my paypal account to link to the site thinking this was just to register my means of payment for credits I would chose to buy if I wished to bid.
Duhhhhhh!
I had no idea they were deducting £50 immediately from my account.
I have now asked for a refund.
I really need to do my due diligence in future.
Now kicking myself for being duped.
The UK address in London for Global Juniper ought to be a good starting point for the authorities.0 -
I must also confess to getting caught, When I was registering I didn't realise that the credit buy had defaulted to £50, I thought I was just registering claim my 'free' bids.
Cannot really blame anyone but myself
To those who managed to retrieve their unused funds, minus the £15 handling charge. How did you go about it ~ the only contact point I can see is the email address. Did you just keep emailing them?
I would rather lose £15 than my £50 !0 -
