Also OP, I wouldn't do as some have mentioned. I wouldn't put laxatives in the food. Not only would they get into trouble for stealing your food, but you would too for purposely going out to cause harm.

Get an extremely concentrated chilli sauce. I got one for a friend so strong that a single drop made the food almost too hot to eat. Put the entire bottle in. Whoever spends the afternoon in hospital is your thief.

I probably wouldn't admit it your lunch though.

I've never understood this thing about food with names on in communal fridges. The other day I ate a sandwich called 'Colin' and a doughnut named 'Marcia'

not if you are clever about it! 'yes boss, I coated my chicken strips in laxatives as I have been feeling very constipated recently and thought it would help - I didn't realize X was going to eat it' ;-)

I'd say I'm constipated and I can't swallow tablets so crush laxatives into my food for personal use and I wasn't expecting anyone to steal it...

Garlic. Make something really garlicky. It won't hurt the person, but you'll know who it is by the smell. Then you could say in a loud voice "Someone's pinched my garlic whatever".

Then watch out for the person stuffing their face with mints!
