Thanks Debtfree, fingers crossed. The nationwide guys haven't even asked for bank statements so hopefully they will be more sensible. We can easily afford the payments and good credit history but seems like roulette!0

Don't give up on Leeds BS just yet. My advice is to call into your local branch to see the manager and put your case to him as you have done here. But if you get turned down do be careful who else you turn to. There are vultures waiting in the wings. Whatever you do, do not look to Paragon. I understand from a Paragon collections officer that they are making their money by jacking up mortgege interest rates when borrowers fall into arrears and then going on to compound the interest on the account balance every 3 months to hurry on the date when the house goes into negative equity and then they repossess. This method more than quadruples in time the profit they'd make if they operated the mortgage normally. When I asked him how they got away with that he boasted 'we're able to manipulate the law.'0

I think that Mortgage companys give a Sad feeble excuse about gambling then refuse, its Utter B***s*it!!
