Turned up today smashed to bits won't even turn on. Now what am I to do?

    Check the buyer's purchase history:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ebayadvsearch?_sofindtype=3

contact any other sellers of similar items to ask if there was an issue.

The more evidence you find the greater reason to contact the police and report the buyer for fraud.

If you're going to confront the buyer should you discover others have experienced the same remain calm and be tactful.

Appeal the case. Upload the original listing photos and any photos of damage that is now visible. Not guaranteed to win but you never know.

Maybe report the buyer to the police?
They might have a habit of doing these kind of things. I certainly wouldn't let them get away with it, that's for sure.

Might be worth looking into the small claims court? If eBay rule against you. Might be worth ringing eBay to, as they are better over the phone.

Does the item have the same serial number?
Always open a case if your unhappy with a transaction :money:

You need to act quickly here otherwise you could lose the money.

Firstly, is it your machine that has been returned?

Write down all the things that are wrong with the machine take some photos.

Ring Ebay CS and tell them your buyer is misusing the returns process. Explain the item is not in the condition it was 'received by the buyer' in. This is an allowable appeal on a case.

CS should tell you to upload your evidence, be clear and concise.

Then they will close the case in the buyers favour. It should then be immediately overruled and the appeal should go in your favour (if you have evidenced it).

If you do nothing, you will lose the money.

    ^^

What that says...and also, it could be an idea to look at making an advisory note with the police at this stage for fraudulent activity and possible criminal damage. Mention that to eBay also as they have a special portal for cases which have a potential crime linked to them.

In the extreme, the OP could take the matter to court to recover the costs. eBay would have the persons details which they would have to pass on (to the police). But getting it sorted now would be best.

The more I think about it, get a case raised with AF:
