NI Mum I would be fairly confident with a score of 107 for the academy! That's my wee girls first choice also! She got a score of 110 and her headmaster thinks anything over 105 more or less guarantees a grammar school place! I have just requested her RAW scores so will post when I get them! She is a September birthday!

I don't know how to quote but if you look at post no 14 by aqeworrier result of 75% gave aqe score of 96 in 2012 and they thought 80 plus would be needed to score 100.

This was the first actual scores I had heard of not speculation and found this post most helpful.

Personally, I kept this in mind throughout the process with Aug birthday child I felt it unlikely to be positive outcome without mid 80 scores in practice papers to allow for nerves on the day of the actual test.

I do myself feel that the 2013 papers were harder,and will be interested to see the 2014 papers but maybe because of uncertainty the parents are pushing children harder,tutoring etc. we have created the double edged sword. The standard of the children's work has gone up... So the 100 average will require a higher % score.

Like many others I just wish the children could go to school and be praised for their best regardless of score. Children have many talents singing, sports etc...
Was interested that more people doing the tests and outcome of surveys that majority who responded want academic selection... Now step up to the mark Stormont and sort it out.

I agree I think the 2013 papers were harder and the standard has went up. I suppose they do have to maintain a standard as most children are working v hard preparing for the tests now. It probably will be the trend.

Craftyc I thought the 2013 papers seemed a bit harder. Does anyone know when the 2014 papers become available? I heard that around 7300 kids sat the test but I'm not sure if this is fact or just someone making a comment.

Thanks snoot 80.I hope you're right.yes our headmaster said 105 up should be ok too.Just with so many more doing It this yr I am a bit concerned.Think It def was around 7300 sat It this yr.It was on the news I think. An average of 77 sets a very high Standard. Think you're right Craftyc they really need to be scoring in or around the 80 mark to be in with a chance.tough going.

Hi I've also just requested my daughters raw scores which should be interesting as her birthday is 4th July so would be one of the oldest, her AQE score was 105.
I'll post as soon as I recieve them.

Yes def be interesting.I would imagine your daughter got around the same as my son(82%) but with the sas she was 2 points lower in aqe score.Have to wait and see I guess.

I don't think anyone has posted the raw scores for a July birthday yet.

I received my son's results yesterday and thought it might be helpful to share, given the discussion surrounding age standardisation.

Assessment 1: 53
Assessment 2: 60
Assessment 3: 56

His final AQE score was 115.
