Busymum - so so sorry to hear about your wee doggy - the poor thing .

I know my kids would be extremely upset if anything were to happen to our doggy.

Good luck for the familiarisation visit this Wed - maybe its a blessing in disguise that it is so late as it might give your D a chance to clear her head a bit before the 1st paper next Saturday.

I am feeling relieved that this will soon be over - hopefully the kids will not find the 1st paper too bad and they will be spurred on to keep working for a few more weeks now that they know the end is in sight. icon14.gif

Hi all, sorry haven't posted for ages, but have been very busy with life in general:)
My daughter overall is doing pretty well, although she is still making some really silly mistakes.
Her tutor and teacher don't think we have anything to worry about, she is definitely Grammar school material, they both say, which is encouraging:D
Daughter doesn't seem to be overly worried or stressed, however I feel she still doesn't realise how important the next month is for her future.
Have got lots of lavender stuff and promised her loads of treats,so hopefully all will be well:o
Best wishes to you all and breathe deep...;)
  • Hi Mr Bun

That's great news that your DD is doing so well - it must be very reassuring - no stress in your house then! I also think my DS should be fine - 4 weeks with a tutor has really settled him but, as you say, I don't think most P7 kids have any idea how important this next month is for deciding their future. They are simply too young. My son has just had a very enjoyable Halloween and the next thing in his mind is Christmas and snow - it's definitely not the AQE! In fact, I think if we just decided not to go and do the tests, he'd be all chuffed ! :j

As you say - deep breaths.......

Wouldn't say there is no stress, but she does seem to be pretty calm about the whole thing...she is more worried about not getting into her first choice school.
Can't wait until the whole shambles is over!!!
  • I agree Mr Bun that the kids don't have a clue how important this month is though maybe that's a good thing! I'm definitely feeling the pressure though, dreamt last night that we slept in on sat and missed the test. Think in the dream I had overdone the lavender lol. Any other parents getting stressed or is it just me turning into a nervous wreck???

No workingmumof2 your not the only one losing the plot! Lol. On Saturday I got all emotional thinking about my daughter and how hard she has worked and how she is going to feel if she doesn't get the score she needs to get into the school she wants. The tears were sitting in my eyes!! Luckily my daughter didn't see me but my husband has already warned me that I'm not allowed to take my daughter on Saturday to the test. It is going to feel like such a long hour for the parents.
  • Awe Mrs Mum I'm so glad im not alone. I will have to take my daughter on sat as hubby is working and I know I will struggle to hold it together, but really need to for her sake. I've heard some horror stories of previous years with kids and parents crying at test centres so really dreading it. It will be such a relief to get this first one over with.
