Small spends of £1 on two packs of rolls (no homemade in) and 84p on 4 pints whole milk.
Changed mealplan and had turkey burgers as it was so hot I didn't fancy fried rice at all. Had the turkey burgers in freezer, made home made chips and home made coleslaw out of veg I had in so only bought the rolls (which I'd actually bought for bacon rolls tomorrow anyway.
Last day at work today as start new job on Monday. Very mixed emotions as excited about new opportunity and slightly higher paid job, but really sad to leave my current workplace, which is a lovely charityworked there four years. Also sad to leave my manager who I have a great relationship with - we were both blubbing today!! Trying to make myself feel better with a few glasses of prosecco lol.

I've missed just over a week and looks like you've all been busy!
Had a fair few little spends and a couple of bigger ones. Been keeping a record but won't bore you all with them!
Up to 9 NSDs for June and have spent 267.24/300 so I'm hopeful of staying under budget. Need a few staple foods, cat food and a little fruit. Nearly there everyone...

Morning!
Today should be a nsd, just like the rest of this week. Except yesterday... I'd had a really bad day at work, won't bore you with the details, but it all started when I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer for tonight's risotto! I have, just once, made it without the chicken, and the children didn't really notice, but anyway... I couldn't be bothered to do much, and as ffoods is right by the drs (we were there for dd who has conjunctivitis), the ch asked if we could have pizza. Oh, alright then!! Spent £5.25, for way too much pizza and some ice creams for pudding. I now have pizza for lunch today and tomorrow!
Will shop tom, taking bf as his car is not playing. Just an aldeeee mini shop as I'm taking the children away next weekend.
Right, best get on with the day. Pizza for breakfast, anyone?!!

Here is what I had for "end of the month" Friday dinner:

Homemade focaccia and houmous. This may look and taste posh, and believe me, it's amazing, but its very frugal and easy to make - the only expensive bit is the olive oil.

I was sooooo tempted to go and get a tub of ice-cream yesterday it was ridiculous !! But I'd have had to crowbar it into the freezer, shouldn't be eating dairy more than absolutely unavoidable (trying to get back to regular exercise which sets off my lactose intolerance), and need to reduce refined sugar and calorie intake. Plan over the next couple of days is to dig out all my tinned fruit (almost all is in juice rather than syrup) and have that to hand in case my sweet tooth kicks in during the evenings.
Ok, I may be about to scupper your good intentions, but I have to share this with you. I really missed ice cream after I went vegan, and there is a FANTASTIC dairy free ice cream that I'm sure you'll love.
It's called Swedish Glace and Sainsbobs sell it - you can buy just vanilla or neopolitan. Honestrly, I recommend the vanilla. It's about £2 for a litre I believe and it's with the other ice cream tubs in the freezer. It's a soya based ice cream so I keep it for special treats, but believe me it's DELICIOUS!

Hi I have been lurking for a couple of weeks. I am keeping my receipts but I have a problem with the market as they don't give receipts. I spend £20 to £30 every two weeks there.
We dash round in the last half hour picking up bargains as they sell everything off at the end of the day.
One year ago this week My son left collage, I had major abdominal surgery the next day and our income immediately dropping by two thirds. We move house in March from the South coast to North of Manchester to save half the rent. I hoped to save on other things but since then Things have gone up even more.
So glad to have found you! Can't cut any more off my other bills so this is where I hope to do it before we run out of savings. Took 3 months for DS to get JSA. No chance of a job. DS then lost JSA again when we moved here also he is now joint tenant and no housing benefit for 3 months. He finally got JSA last week.
Problem is I no longer get any money to support him but he is not allowed as he lives with mum. I am not allowed one penny more than for one single pensioner. Maths just does not add up. Have cut out all that is not fixed bills and food no luxuries even TV gone. We think he may get housing benefit next week.
Market is helping, We have shopped twice at Ald* Can't believe how cheap. Need to decide when new month starts. Assuming DS gets paid we both get housing benefit every 4 weeks, Basic pension about half of 4 weekly, Occupational Pension calender monthly, JSA every two weeks in arrears.
Objective to get DS coping on a budget he can manage before I die and still have enough savings left to pay for my funeral. Some advice would be useful.0 -
Just done a basic weekly shop for £25.14 so added to sig. Hubby came with me which he never does and a few treats ended up in the basket. But pleased with the cost. Is it Thursday that the voucher will be in the paper? I have saved some of my budget so next week I can hopefully get two papers and do one stock up on things like cat food and cereal. I did that last month and it really helped just walking straight past two aisles on the other weeks!!!Grocery challenge-
