I have to agree that the OP's "attitude" has been clear to see since the beginning of this thread. I'm not at all surprised to read that the OP used to be a forum moderator; on many forums it's a prerequisite to be full of your own self-importance.

If this is how the OP corresponds with the EA then it's no wonder they're not bending over backwards to help the OP acquire the property. My advice would be to treat other people as you'd like them to treat you, it doesn't cost anything to be nice.

Clearly there are a lot of incredibly sensitive and thin-skinned people here.

I also find it utterly incredible to note the assumptions that it was me being horrid to the poor estate agents that created the situation when I have outlined their behaviour from the beginning. Their first communication to me was telling me they were going to let the property that I had rented for 7 years but I was welcome to sign a contract and pay for credit checks if I wanted to stay. Incredibly aggressive, but no doubt my fault due to the attitude I had shown them before I had even communicated with them. No doubt they would also exhibit the usual helpful and honest behaviour that letting agents are renowned for if only I hadn't been so awful to them.

Your comment about moderators will no doubt be welcomed by the moderators.

    Utterly ridiculous.

OP, direct quote from your reply to Bouicca21 in post #3...

Yes, that is what I was hoping to get. I clarified what assistance I was looking for. You are insinuating something from it? You are really terribly offended by that simple statement?

Not at all, I don't usually get offended by comments posted by strangers on an internet forum :) I was trying to show how right from the beginning you come across rather like a toddler throwing his toys out of the cot in a tantrum. Getting into a huff when the first reply on your thread asked for some important clarification is the first example - there are many more in your subsequent replies, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this. I (along with a number of others it would seem) am out of this thread. Good luck with the house hunt.

I don't see it like that at all and it certainly wasn't the intention but, as you say, we will agree to disagree.

I'll thank you for wishing me luck though. It can be stressful enough without having an impossible timescale imposed, so it looks like some of the money that was supposed to go toward a mortgage will instead be going toward a rental that I don't want. Yay.

Can I ask anyone else who fancies having a go at me to simply not bother - it isn't constructive and just wastes my time and provides even more stress when it just isn't required. Forums rules also generally prefer people to play the ball and not the player.

Thanks to all of those who have provided useful advice and constructive comments - you have been much appreciated.

About as useful as most of your reaction to the help that people have tried to give you. You have even managed to have a go at G_M and Pmlindyloo, two of the most helpful and frequently thanked posters on this board. Still, everyone is out of step except you I guess.

Please do not bother to respond to this post OP as I wouldn't want to waste any more of your time (whereas mine is of course in your view pretty worthless anyway I guess).

And therein lies the problem. At no time have I 'had a go' at pmlindyloo, unless you have a really bizarre idea of what 'having a go' is'. I thanked pmlindyloo for being helpful!

If you have nothing helpful to say then simply say nothing. If you insist on saying something then at least make it accurate. Your comment about your time not being valuable proves my statement about people being thin-skinned.

What an odd place this is, and not just based on this thread.

Spooky, I think you need to find an alternative source for guidance and advice now. I doubt that any of the usually very helpful regular posters are inclined to help you further.

    Good luck

I took exception to one poster who made some odd comments that were not helpful. I can do without that sort of help.

All posters who were helpful were thanked, and there were a good number of them. I cannot see why people who tried to help and were thanked for doing so would not continue to do so. I know I would and have done for years on other forums.

Critiques of my supposed character based on a few forum posts and what people infer from them are neither accurate nor welcome and there is no reason why I should not clearly state my opinion about that.

Personal attacks are usually frowned upon on forums.
