You have read the thread, the history of how the agents have behaved and your conclusion is that I have a chip on my shoulder...

    What a fabulous contribution.

No, Ive read the thread and come to that conclusion solely from your posts. The agents seem to have done what they are supposed to, bit odd about not having a proper address to serve notices etc but thats by the by. Your posts show you cant answer simple questions and have an attitude that might need adjusting. So yes, my inital post high lights that making it a contribution. Fabulous or otherwise is for you to decide.

BS. Some people have been extremely helpful while others have not. You belong to the 'have not'. What you describe as 'a bit odd' is actually a criminal offence. No doubt if someone puts a dent in your car you take a look and think 'that's a bit odd - hey ho'.

If it makes you feel good to jump into a thread, make a personal attack and make no genuine attempt to assist then that makes you a rather sad little bunny in my opinion, but fill your boots.

Having moderated forums for many years I know how this type of situation goes and recognise this type of 'contributor'. It's often easy to spot them by the poor grammar. I'm not going to enter into any more troll feeding.

Anyone with anything helpful or constructive to add is more than welcome to post and their assistance will be gratefully received.

I find this whole thread bizarre. As I understand:

    1) OP has been issued a correct S21 but doesn't want to leave and would be interested in purchasing the property.

    2) OP has been given a UK address where to serve notices to the LL (which is all that the agent has to provide, or indeed is allowed to provide)

    3) OP hasn't as yet even written to this address, because he finds this "terribly old-fashioned". Instead he prefers seeking out relatives via social media

    4) OP has been given a lot of useful advice - starting with the suggestion that he actually tries putting pen to paper, as anybody sensible would do, who wishes to be taken seriously. However OP seems to prefer ranting on and on about the agents - even though the letting agents have nothing to do with the sale?

If I thought OP was actually interested in advice, I'd offer my opinion on possible next steps, but I don't think there is much point. And for the record: OP, your "chip on shoulder" attitude came out clearly already in post #3, in your snarky response to a poster who was asking constructive questions in a genuine attempt to be helpful. How rude.

I have to agree that the OP's "attitude" has been clear to see since the beginning of this thread. I'm not at all surprised to read that the OP used to be a forum moderator; on many forums it's a prerequisite to be full of your own self-importance.

If this is how the OP corresponds with the EA then it's no wonder they're not bending over backwards to help the OP acquire the property. My advice would be to treat other people as you'd like them to treat you, it doesn't cost anything to be nice.

Good grief. I am also finding this thread bizarre.

There was nothing 'snarky' about my comment in post number 3 - I simply asked what was confusing as I thought I had made the situation clear. You would need a remarkably thin skin to take offence to that. It isn't rude at all - just a simple question.

Your point number 1 - yes, and whether or not the section 21 was correctly issued was part of my question.

Your second point number 1 - no, I had NOT been given the required address by the letting agent. I clearly stated this more than once. I found this out by my own efforts after refusal by the letting agent.

Your point number 2 - no, I have done this after getting some helpful advice. Trying to get a direct conversation going was my first instinct - I do not see what is so shocking about that or what is wrong with using social media. Why would I only be sensible if I wrote a physical letter rather than trying to initiate a direct conversation?

    3. I have thanked people who gave that advice and who gave other useful advice - what's the problem with that? The advice to immediately write a formal letter was exactly the type of advice I hoped to get when I came here.

I really would prefer not to get notifications and come here thinking someone had something helpful to add only to find personal attacks.

I was hoping for some comments or thoughts that might be helpful in my current situation before me, my wife and child are kicked out of a house that the landlord wants to sell and we are willing to buy.

(BTW I've corrected the numbering in my previous post.)
