seller saying postage wrong

It's got it somewhere in the ebay rules (but as usual I can't find it now) that the postal charges are only an estimation and the seller is entitled to adjust the postal charges at the end of the auction. I don't agree with that idea but I've had a similar situation to what the OP has had and I was pointed this out by the seller that time.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

It says something like postage can be increased but only by mutual consent between buyer and seller. The seller can't just increase it without notice.0 -

This is a bit of a red herring (and why are we not surprised that ebay tend to confuse us!!). Basically it says that sellers can increase postage after auction ends where the circumstances change, ie this would cover a US buyer where UK postage only is quoted. As FloFlo has already says it is also entirely dependent on the buyers agreement.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You are under no obligation to pay the extra. You pay the postage costs stated in the auction, regardless of what it actually cost the seller to post it to you0

There will always be sellers who 'use' the rules as they interpret them to their advantage. I recently sold something on a new account so I looked like a newbie and someone was really nasty telling me that ebay expected me to send the item for inspection *before* payment, so he wouldn't pay until he had the goods....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree that the seller has been rude and not at all apologetic.
If I were you, I would find out from her how much she thinks should have been charged, then perhaps offer to pay a percentage.
At the end of the day, it all depends on how much you want them. If the seller decides she is not going to conclude the transaction because its not financially worth it, she will find another reason to cancel it, such as it is broken/parts missing etc.“All you need is love. Were they surprised when you disagreed, :rotfl:0 -
I had the buying more than one, only getting charged one lot of postage thing. The seller emailed me very politely, apologised and said he'd cancel it if I wanted to. I was fine with the charges, and genuinely hadn't noticed what had happened, so he sent me a bill for the extra which I paid. However, if he'd been as short as the OP's seller I would have felt very differently about it! No harm in a bit of courtesy, I think. Would the OP let us know what happens please, I'm a bit inquisitive!0

Owing to the unapologetic tone, I'd consider negging to be honest.0
