Cancel Sky get NowTV?

I have a 32" Samsung TV, and the NowTV picture quality is fantastic for movies.
Whether it is actually HD or not I don't know, but that's just a label because it's far superior to Film4 for example and I can't tell the difference between BBC1 HD and NowTV.
Then you must have very poor eyesight. :rotfl:0 -
We hardly watch much t.v and do not mind watch after live.
I saw the advert about "Now tv" the box,we are uninterested in watching sky.
Could i just plug that in and watch reruns?then we could ditch the old T.v licence?0 -

You only need a TV license if you watch live TV.
However the NowTV box will let you watch BBC iPlayer, 4OD, 5 on demand, and a few more for free, so not everything. Other services, such as movies etc cost extra.0 -
They stream at a max bit rate of 1.5Mbps. Thats way below broadcast TV standard definition quality. And thats a fact.
Well, thanks for the fact. I don't dispute it.
I still maintain that Now TV (movies at 720p on a Now TV box) with me is a very high standard, and gives a better picture than Film4. That's also a fact as far as I'm concerned, because I can see how the picture quality is inferior. I don't know why, and with you it might be different. I don't know.
Mbps isn't always an indicator of quality, as I'm sure you know. The size of the file doesn't necessarily indicate a better picture.
EDIT: it seems Now TV picture quality differs across devices. As I have the Now TV box and stream in 720p, it would appear to be better than viewing Now TV content from a number of other devices, and always better than viewing live TV, which is always in standard definition.0 -
