I wouldn't dream of putting my cleaning cloths in with the main wash  I put them in with the tea towels/dish cloths on a hot wash.

    yep - me too.

My cleaning cloths are either m/f ones or cut up old towels.

I cannot believe anyone would put this stuff in with regular wash! Eurgh.

For me, I use microfiber towels in kitchen mainly instead of oven gloves. These go in separately. I then have a separate wash that I put the steam mop covers and window vac things in. For me it's the same as if LO is ill, the clothes he's in get washed separately with disinfectant in final rinse. It's no different.

Dish sponges get used once and then binned. Cannot stand the flipping things. Everything else I use anti-bac wipes or those blue jay cloth things which again get binned.

I'm pretty strict about keeping cleaning stuff from normal clothes etc and tend to do two separate washes of cleaning textiles at 60 degrees, adding in some washing soda crystals as well as powder/liquid.

T-towels, dishcloths, oven gloves, potholders, sofa arm and cushion protectors etc get their own wash.

Micro-fibre floor mopping pad and floor duster, floor cloths, and dusting cloths, go in another wash. Sometimes my husband's car overalls go in there at the same time. My machine is one where it adjusts the amount of water to the weight of the load so I feel better about doing tiny washes.

Everything just gets chucked in together in our house - we have little enough time as it is without separating laundry!

We do use disposable cleaning wipes for floors and loo though.

everything goes in the same wash here except one boil wash of whites per week to try and get the kids school shirts clean.

i am a massive believer that people need a certain amount of bacteria in their lives to keep there immune systems working.
I think a fair amount of the increased illness iand allergies is due to everyone being too sterile these days.

unless you are immunio suppressed (or in hospital) then i really don't believe theres a need for everything to be sterile clean

the only thing that gets bleach clean in this house is the toilet and work surfaces after raw chicken. i also like to wash beddings and towels at at least 60

It is a serious illness that to many people take flippantly, people don't joke about strokes, heart disease in the same manner so why do it with mental health issues?
