Seriously Pigpen have you considered skipping A levels and doing a degree? I am doing one without A levels, just seemed sensible to 'skip the unnecessary' and doing it from home with the OU. Saved an extra 2 years studying for me.

Right, dinner scoffed, have read through but memory is dwindling as my feet and head hurt a lot, tiredness I think so shall offer hugs to everyone, take or leave as you please.

Sat watching BBC after the 'Who do you think you are' which was very interesting and they have 3 adorable little boys on 'Family Wanted' feature, who are looking to be adopted, I wish I had the space I really do, these beautiful little boys are making me cry :(

Elizzy hugs to your friend, such sad news :(
One day I might be more organised...........

Shattered now, and was out from 9-7:45. Managed to have Charlie ready for bed before we came home, so he was asleep in the car and straight to bed. I've managed to put some cardboard boxes from yesterday into the bin, put the washing in the TD, and cook dinner. Now i've eaten too much, and feel really bloated and bleugh.

Need to get my !!! into gear as it's already late and there is washing up to do, bottles to make, and things to get organised.

Will be out for some of tomorrow too as i was invited for coffee at someones house tomorrow, and as it is the woman who bought my mum and dads old house 5 years ago, i couldn't say no as i want to go and have a nosy as they have done major rennovations since i lived there. Both sisters were slightly jealous. One wanted me to take a camera and sneakily take piccies, but i think that would be more than a little rude. :rotfl:

so pretty pants, but i also remembered to get a book back from my sister that she had borrowed, and get my hair cut.

best now empty out the mucky things out of the baby bag, rescue the spare bedding from the TD, and gradually get myself sorted out for tomorrow. Should only be out a few hours anyway tomorrow, so that shouldn't prevent me doing stuff.

    Night.

    Hi everyone

Not been posting much today but have been checking in to se ehow you are all doing.

Been a busy bee here, got the rest of the ironing done as well as washing my bedding and pillows. Just need to punch one of them back into shape now :rotfl: Freecycle cot collected so a bit more space but I got the old hoover down from the loft instead!

Pics taken of the hoover and some toys that have been sat waiting to be sorted one way or another for ages and ages. Going to try ebay tomorrow with them and if they don't go then freecycle they WILL!

It has been dry here ALL day which has to be a first this month and probably a first in a month or more.

Pigpen I do admire you going back to study, not sure I could do it but tend to agree with lil_me, skip the A levels and go straight for the degree and you to could be a Dr in a few yrs ;)

HopeElizzy that is such sad news sending you and your friend HUGS at such a sad time.

lil-me watched the same thing and just said to DH could we have them. They were so cute, and looked to be a lovely little family. It always makes me wonder why they are up for adoption though. It amazes me that people can give birth to children and then not be able to look after them. After going through it there would be no way i would let anyone else have Charlie. Wouldn't have room for all 3 of them anyway, so wouldn't be suitable, but i could definitely adopt a child.

hopeelizy very sorry to hear that. It is always a shock when it is unexpected. We nearly lost my dad when he was 43, so i always make sure i don't take anything for granted nowadays. Also nearly lost my nephew when he was 3. It must be awful for your friend to have had that call to go and do work on her mum. My thoughts are with you.

pigpen i agree that you are more than capable. It all depends on if you think you will have time, do you want to do anything in particular with them, and if you want to go to the local college to keep up doing something out of the house like you currently do. Any course would be good for you to keep your brain active and give you something for you. There is only you though that knows your long term goals and aspirations. No doubt we all have different experiences, and others can advise about how they have done it.

Anyway, definitely off now, as DH is asleep on the sofa, and the stuff isn't going to do itself, so i guess it is my job then. Also want a quick bath before tomorrow as no chance while charlie is awake. the bathroom would be wrecked.

Thanks all for your support.. BUT.. I can't do a degree at the moment for a multitude of reasons the main 10 being.. I don't have the time, the childcare or the motivation. I NEED something to kickstart my rotting grey cells because I feel like a total moron TBH.. I know I am MORE than capable, but given the fact I have never had any kind of career path in mind it makes it VERY difficult to even think about what I might want to study.. I can't do OU because I cannot motivate myself or organise my time, there is always something FAR more important than studying.. like painting my nails, flea spraying cats etc.. My husband has just done the 'why don't you just go to uni' thing.. but at £3000+ for a course I simply cannot afford the outlay and certainly don't want more debt added to what I already have. I could manage the 3 hours a week an A-level would require.. it would (in theory) build on essay writng skills (of which I have few) would mean I was out of the house with adults, possibly make new friends and maybe even give me a longer term goal. On the other hand I have been doing dressmaking for 4 years have learned next to nothing, made no new friends and achieved very little.. so.. I have no idea, but I do know that I will probably end up using all of the above reasons as excuses NOT to do anything, because in truth I am terrified of going new places and doing new things.

There you go... is that a total and utter cop out or what?

    hello all

sounds like lots of stuff going on for some of you - hugs to those who need them! puts my wedding worried in perspective.
re the wedding reception we seem to have sorted it, we found out the place we'd booked (which has recently been sold but they'd promised to honour bookings) will likely be closed for refurn in january. about 40 people had already booked rooms and given a desposit and also cos the wedding is quite big (number-wise) we would struggle to find somewhere else that fittted the criteria (size, budget, and like it!). anyway, thorough a lot of arm-twisting the events organiser has managed to move us to the other hotel owned by the original group (the problem was that another group are also in for the evening do). so, not ideal to be sharing the space but hey, it will be fine. the hotel has just been refurbed and looks gorgeous, so should be cool. certainly relieved to say the least!

anyway, zilch flying done here today, i think i deserve to be let off.... but i did sopend several hours helping a friend who is moving get sorted and clean. my goodness, her place should be on kim and aggie- i don;t think she has cleaned for the 5 years she's been there and seems to have no idea how to (i had to take the curtains down for her as she's never done it...). anyway, we made some headway so i feel good about that.

anywya, i need to sleep. will try and catch up in the mornign, but i'm not going to stress about it!
