Buyer wants postage refund- how much?

But when you look back to page 1 of this thread there are posters, "Janb5", who calculate items to the exact penny, and believe it is some kind of falsehood to add on anything at all.
Hi, it`s me! I don't think it is some kind of falsehood- just irritation that some sellers add a ridiculous premium and then hide behind this perception that" well the buyer could have bought elsewhere so it`s ok to hike the price up....." I do subscribe to giving a refund if the postage is unexpectedly cheaper as the buyers think you aren't going to rip them off! This topic is going to run and run but I do believe that buyers expect fairness and are not prepared to fund `extras` such as your trip to the Post Office.
Could I make a plea for some posts to have correct English and not`there` for `their` and words like seller`s ,fee`s and poster`s . It`s very boring to read and it is almost considered de rigeur to write poor English.
Is it ridiculous to charge £2.90 or £2.80 to post a small item of children's clothing that could be sent as a large letter? They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
I do send items by large letter when appropriate..........0

That takes minutes to have removed.
DONT REFUND A PENNY!!!!!!
Only if they have threatened a Neg. If they haven't, it won't be removed if it's inline with eBay policy on what you can say.
Ripping the buyer off on postage, is breaking eBay rules!!Always open a case if your unhappy with a transaction :money:0 -
A seller won't lose their account for charging the delivery charge that was on this listing.
Remember on the new defect system,P&P low stars will no longer count.
A buyer can be reported for trying to demand money - if you get Dublin on the line, they will read the messages, and in some cases issue buyers who do this with an MCxxx warning.
The item was delivered for the price agreed and no refund should be offered. I'd just tell the buyer to send it back, and list again with 'free P&P' but add 5 to the total price.
I never give into extortionists - once they get a taste for it, other sellers will be victims in the future.
I always take a hard line with buyers who try it on, and I find a polite but firm 'no' works wonders.
The only extortionists are the sellers who abuse the postage and packing system. And they will lose there account, so who loses in the end? Not the buyer.
Defects might not count on P&P soon, but buyers will mark them 3 stars across the board or even less. So again, the seller will lose out! All for a few pounds, is it really worth it?Always open a case if your unhappy with a transaction :money:0 -
OP - refer your buyer to Arkell v Pressdram (1971)The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
