Taking in a lodger / housekeeper

I too have spent time at sea, I too have been used to having a steward, having meals cooked for me, not having to do any cleaning. I was called 'Memsahib' for 3 years.
But I still manage to fend for myself now.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Not to mention that the OP's also asking about whether his mother should get a lodger.
There's an obvious solution there. But I suspect he's already asked, and she's already told him to grow up and stand on his own two feet...
No, it's not a good option, because my mother is on benefits, so that would cause many complications with LHA and pension credit, council tax exemption etc. Like I said, I don't know much abut benefits, but I've seen enough online to see that it is complicated.
I am standing on my own feet, but looking to improve my QoL0 -
