    Of course that same benefits system also means that the type of "job" you are offering is singularly unattractive to most compared with claiming housing benefit and working in a more conventional employment situation.

    Nothing to stop you moving to a third world country that still exploits people though. You'd find a similarly institutionalized ex-pat community there too made up of others who often can't really manage for themselves either and whose careers are coming to a close.
