Erm, they send it next day delivery. Scotland is still covered by the Royal Mail isn't it?

I wouldn't take their word as gospel. Just because it says its in stock online, doesn't mean its going to be constantly in stock.
The rate I'm selling at today is 3.3055 and we have loads of it in stock as of this morning, but its going down by the thousands every hour and I doubt we'll have any left by the end of the day.

Sorry for trying to help. Maybe no one should try anywhere else other than Travelex. I've found them very reliable in the past especially for obscure currencies and as you've said yourself you're running out so other alternatives might be useful to people.

I contacted Thomas Exchange and they confirmed that they have got plenty of Turkish Lira in stock :j and the rates are better than Travelex , Post Office, M&S etc.

They also offer next day delivery if you are based outside London.

Have just returned from Turkey. Get your visa online before you go. Costs more on arrival (£20 not $20). Also long queues at airport. I took a small amount with me and then used ATM. Got around 3.4 or 3.5

Most hotels have a cash-point machine so why not simply wait until you get there! The most savvy travellers amongst us will already have a Halifax Clarity or similar card to facilitate fee free foreign transactions?

    And if not, why not?
