I am so tired! Work was brutal today, the huge conservatory was 35 degrees inside -- I took a pic of the thermometer because I didn't think anyone would believe me! I'm sure it's lovely to sit in but when you have to dust, vacuum and mop the whole thing, it's not so much fun.
If someone would be kind enough to give me a fireman's lift into the bathroom and dump me shower, I would be most grateful. Ta0 -
RIP Stephen Sutton, such a brave and inspirational young man, im glad he achieved so much off his list. Hes at peace now and no longer suffering but his name will live on as he showed such courage and faced his illness with dignity while raising the profile of cancer charities and helping their funds.
so sad, my DS2 is his age and i cant and dont want to imagine how steven's poor family must be feeling.
afternoon all
missed the day as ive been helping out on a school outing
will play a quick game of catch up but going to run down the shops and see if theres anything in the way of salad left on the shelves
hope all are wellSPC~12 ot 124

*slings Fizz over shoulder and trots into the shower room*
 Hi Doobop!Dd2 confided in dd1 that fb actually hit her!!!! I am so angry.
I had hoped that if the young man saw sense that you might still be able to help him, but I no longer feel that way. I'm glad she told you though because so many women feel ashamed if they are on the receiving end of domestic violence.
How did Ozzy do yesterday, in the end Vanilla?
Buckets of luck for everyone doing exams and destressed vibes for everyone around them.
Lamewolf, without wishing to be disrespectful to your father, what a stupid, cruel and mean thing to even think about anyone's illness.
(((Hugs))) Decogeko for yesterday.
Multiple healing vibes, Skinty.
Ionafan, how long did it take your goldfinches to find their food? Following your post I got some niger seeds and the appropriate feeder because we've occasionally seen them on the seed feeder, but so far the level doesn't seem to have gone down. (It's been out there since Friday.)
Along with scrubbing the shower in the shower room, my least favourite job in the whole wide world is handwashing clothes. I have a shiny sparkly halo over my head and eight handwashed tops dripping from various lines and the trolley on the sundeck. I feel very virtuous.
The ex-RN lodger changed his bed and vacced his own room plus the stairs up to the back door. Mind you, I had to rescue two dinner plates from his room that had glued themselves together with food waste. *yuk*Better is good enough.0 -
Aww pigpen enough is enough, I really hope dd2 gets shot of him for good. She deserves better
what a rotten time she's having.
And RIP to that extraordinary young man, I hope his family are able to grieve in peace
It kind of puts things in perspective, doesn't itand here am I nattering about a parking ticket (it fell off the windscreen in the heat
).
What a glorious day though, weather wise.
The cheesecake went down well at work - and for LW and the other flylady who asked:
Rocky road base:
100g butter, melted, 3tbsp golden syrup, 200g white choc. Melt together on a low heat in heavy based pan.
Add 150g bashed biccies eg digestives and any other goodies - I used a couple of bashed meringue nests, some chopped glac! cherries and a couple of handfuls of mini marshmallows. Coat in the butter mix and spread in a dish then chill.
I then used 2 tubs of soft cheese (full fat) so 400g, beaten with an ounce or so of sugar and a good dollop of vanilla extract. I then mixed this with 300ml whipped double cream (soft peaks) and spread on top.
Sprinkled mini marshmallows and white choc drops on top and lightly pressed in so they didn't come loose.
This made a very large cheesecake, I tried to limit the sugar in the cheesy bit as I knew the base was sweet. I'd say half the ingredients for a regular size. We got 8 generous portions and the birthday boy still took about a third of it home with him!
Well, I've appealed my parking ticket. If I pay within 14 days it's only £25 and with it being a council one (street side pay and display) it is enforceable however they do have discretion to cancel so I've asked nicely and explained the ticket was there, just upside down. I can only wait and see.
Right, will go collect my littlies. Expecting two hot dirty hungry tired little bodies tonightbath before supper I think... (Them, not me lol)

Another little thing off the list. Ordered pizza tonight so should really get everything done.
Honey Bear he was actually really good. We did think he had disappeared at one point but by the time I got the car keys he appeared again completely covered in muck so he had been up the feild. Then spent all evening in the house in front of the fire. Plan is to have him off the chain for a little bit each day. Slowly build it up and hopefully he will stay.

Hi everyone
Hope the exam stress levels are staying within reasonable bounds for all Flykids.
Honey Bear, I've only seen the goldfinches on the niger feeder once and the level has hardly gone down at all. I'm putting up another bird feeder "tree" in the front garden and another niger seed feeder on that - it will interesting to see if we get a different set of birds. We had Mr and Mrs Robin and their two babies in our back garden yesterday afternoon
Had a lovely day out today, spending minimum cash and visiting some beautiful gardens in glorious weather. Skittle evening tonight!
I went for my shoulder x-ray at 9.00, so that's one thing off my to-do list. Not much else, I'm afraid, but the house is still tidy (or was, until DH started looking for some papers...).

If I had a brain, I'd be dangerous.... I meant to welcome Doobop to the thread before this!:o Anyways.... a belated Welcome.:DHoney_Bear wrote: »Lamewolf, without wishing to be disrespectful to your father, what a stupid, cruel and mean thing to even think about anyone's illness.
Frog successfully munched *burp*.:D
The largest dragon on the premises is all lovely and clean now. She's about a foot high, and lives out on the patio, and was looking a tad sorry for herself, what with lichen and bird poo. Amazing what hot water with a dash of washing up liquid will do.:o
Bossy many thanks for the recipe - snagged and stored on my crafts and recipes flash drive.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
