So get an expert report if you are so sure, sheeesh....
Note that the fault must be inherent at manufacture.0 -

I guess I will just have to accept it ill lose the laptop bit at the end of the day a bit of moisture form humidity that your all stating can not cause a laptop to stop the sound working just like that. I recon it was a manufacture fault and they are using 'humidity' as an excuse because nothing was ever spilt on it and in sorry i don't care what anyone says I know for a fact I did not spill liquid on it!!!!
Let's try another example...
If I dropped my phone in the bath it would obviously get soaked.
I could send it back to the manufacturer and when told "it's water damage", I could simply state "I know for a fact it has never got wet" and "I am not stupid enough to use it in the bath", and "I recon it was a manufacture fault", and "I know for a fact I did not spill liquid on it", etc, etc.
Perfectly reasonable to protest your innocence, but you need some independent proof.
Until you have that proof, you will not win this argument.0 -
Could the dampness you are now reporting in your latest thread - Can i claim compensation - have caused your laptop problem?
You say in that thread:sammyjayneex wrote: »I have lived in my council property for over 4 years and have problems with mould since moving in.0 -

Most likely; yes.
In all seriousness I'd love the OP to let us know the outcome of this after their insistence; How can you say to me that I have water damaged a product when I clearly have not
so what your saying is even though I know for a fact there has been no liquid near my laptop I still have to accept that there was just because lenovo says I have
so what your saying is that even though I know no liquids where around the laptop i still have to accept there was
seriously I'm sorry but that's just wrong I think j would Know if i dropped liquid on it wouldn't I
You can't go around saying someone dropped liquid on a product then they clearly saying they have not
if i did water damage something I certainly wouldn't be sending it off to a manufacturer to repair would I
why should I lose my money for something I didn't do
that's why I'm so angry coz I know I didn't get liquid on it
this laptop is kept in welll away from liquids0 -

You seem to have missed the point.
Lenovo are not saying the fault was caused by water damage they are just stating that at some point the water detection devices inside the laptop (usually a simple colour change sticker) have been triggered thus voiding your warranty entirely and allowing them to charge you for the repair.
Whether you believe it or not is beside the point, as other commenters have stated ad nauseam the burden of proof now rests with yourself , in this case the proof needed is an independant inspection of the laptop by a 3rd party at your own expense which you could then attempt to claim back from Lenovo if your inspection agreed that their was no water damage however I doubt that they would accept that and you would be likely looking at small claims court (more cost...)
I'd cut your loses and get a new laptop...0 -

You seem to have missed the date of the posts? How exactly do you cut your loses?0 -

Looks like you've found the source, yes I know it's an old thread, but for anyone reading, another source of water damage on laptops is kittens. They find a nice warm keyboard and aren't terribly diligent.0

That's some serious stalking to notice something like this.0 -
That's some serious stalking to notice something like this.
Why do you think that?
It only takes a couple of clicks on their user name to get to the previous posts made by the OP and the first one that appears is relating to damp and mould in their house. Two mouse clicks isn't exactly "serious stalking".
Don't you think that having a damp, mouldy house is relevant when the problem being asked about is damp getting inside a computer?
If people leave out what may be very important information when asking for advice, what's wrong with looking at the previous posting history to find out something that may help?0
