    Which law is that?

I am not sure, but I read that " If a retailer is operating Dynamic Currency Conversion you should still always be able to choose the currency of the country you are in."

RyanAir can't enforce their horrible exchange rates onto customers, right?

I have just bought 2 separate lots of flights in euros.
I unticked the box then closed the pop up window & finished the bookings.
Just checked my credit card statement & the bookings have been charged in euros....
    RYANAIR QW788H0 66.29EUROPEAN M at 1.22873030 £53.95
Which is what I expected & what happened.
    So no problem for me.

    That is very weird.

When I select my card type (Mastercard Debit issued by Metro Bank UK) and insert my card number this appears underneath:
Your debit/credit card will now be charged 39.63 GBP (45.98 EUR more information), you will be redirected to the next page for confirmation of this transaction.

And when I click more information a small window pops up:

    My online banking say:

    My email confirmation says:

    eI7x3nE.png

Do you untick the option in more information?
Any idea why it does not work with me? I tried with Chrome and IE.

That's not law but contractual conditions imposed by the card industry (specifically Visa, MasterCard, American Express etc) upon merchants. As I said before, you should complain to your card issuer.

I just un ticked the box & then closed the window with the 'x' in the top right then carried on with the booking.
I was using Firefox if that makes any difference.
    Also using Nationwide credit card.

Working for me using Firefox 30.0.

Once you type the final digit of your CC number the extra text appears saying:
Your debit/credit card will now be charged 166.06 GBP (196.76 EUR more information), you will be redirected to the next page for confirmation of this transaction.
Press the highlighted "more information" and you get to the screen where you can refuse the exchange rate offered.

I've just realised this happened to me on a booking I made in June for travel in August. I definitely unticked the box as I have done on numerous occasions to pay in euros on my halifax Clarity Card. I have disputed the payment with Halifax and am expecting a letter in the next few days

sorry to resurrect this old post. Having read the response that the OP received from Ryanair, I contacted my credit card provider straightaway, using quotes from his correspondence to explain why I hadn't contacted Ryanair as there seemed little point.
However Halifax (it's a Clarity Card) have got back to me and said I must raise the issue with Ryanair before they can do anything. Does anyone know the best method of contacting Ryanair - is it the email address above? Also was wondering if the OP had got any further with his claim? thanks
