I have another question Does he have to supply me with his new address when he finally finds somewhere to live? He's stating he won't give it to me. ... Can he refuse giving it to me?
Did he explain why he doesn't want you to have it?
Do you think this is a tactic he is using to try and blackmail you to transfer the proceeds of the car to him, ensure you don't ask for child support and pay off all jointly owned debts?
For a question like this, you need expert legal advice, not strangers on a forum.
It's fairly easy to pay a tracing agency to identify where he has moved to (although you need to wait a month or two). Landlords pay a small fee (sometimes on a 'no trace/no fee' basis to these agents all the time to trace where their non-paying tenants have skipped to. The reason for the lag is that they wait for the absconder to update where they send their bills/bank statements, they use databases relating to credit reference agencies.
The only way a person can't be found is if they are really skilled and knowledgeable about how to fly under the radar and it's a lot more sophisticated than just opting not to go onto the council tax records and electoral register at a new place. Also, if you have a close friend or family nearby, you can just get someone to follow him back from work anyday of the week!
But he's designed this gesture to upset you, to punish you and it's working. What he is suggesting is quite insulting, along with his other demands, often financially related.0 -
It sounds like he is blackmailing you and bullying you at every opportunity. See a solicitor asap, it will be cheaper than having him screw you over at every corner.
He cannot sell your car because it's not his to sell.0 -

If you read the original post, she says that she paid £6,000 of the £7,000 from her redundancy payment.
Most of the money for my car came from my wife (via the joint account), but it is still legally my car because I was the one who signed the paperwork and the contract for sale from the dealer is made out in my name.
That OP has not clarified who owns the car rather makes me think that it is her ex. Which would make things awkward.0 -

Bit rich, advising others to read when you haven't done so yourself. It matters not whose name is on the V5 or who provided the money. The owner is the person it was sold to, the one whose name is on the receipt/invoice.0 -
You say there are debts, whos name are the debts in? His, yours or joint? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
