Hi all. I am filling in the C1 form and this thread has been very helpful.  I wondered how to fill in the description of bank accounts on the inventory? Also do I number each asset in the item number? Lastly do I put in furniture etc? As well as utility bills that have been refunded ? The values are under £50? Except council tax is refund of £62

    Bank account example:

Virgin Money, 5 Green Street, Aberdeen

Sort code 66-00-11 Deposit Account number 00562789994

in the name of the deceased

Balance at time of death including interest

Each inventory item should be numbered

    Example for house contents

       Contents of 22 Brick Lane

       Value estimated by executor

It is the market value that is used and the resale value of house contents might be relatively low

Any overpayment of utility bills and council tax as at date of death should be listed.

Thank you so much. Lastly what do I put into declaration box? I have put in my name and address but assuming it should be more detailed?

The fist box on the declaration page needs only your full name and address

example for para 2. I have made an assumption about your relationship.

    That I am

the daughter and executrix-nominate of the said deceased conform to her will dated the [insert date] which is exhibited, docquetted and signed by me as relative hereto.

And if you can answer ‘no‘ to any of the following questions you will need to modify the para 2 entry.

    1. Do you hold the original will?
    2. Are the executor names and addresses the same as stated in the will?
    3. Is the deceased’s name and last address the same as stated in the will?
    4. Are all nominated executors acting?

OK I was hoping to avoid this 'extra' piece of administration (Grant of confirmation for father) but it looks like unavoidable.

So I would then need to go back to 2022 and detail half share of house and half share of bank account balances for dad at time of death (for joint bank accounts) on separate form C1?  And we'd have to apply for that first and then mums C1...

No IHT due as the estate value well under thresholds.

It all hinges on the validity of the evacuation of the special destination. If signed by both parents and prepared by a solicitor then you would expect it to be OK.

If the house is to be sold or ownership transferred you might wish to check with your conveyancing solicitor to give you reassurance that my comments are accurate.

@buddy9 thank you so much! I have almost filled in the form.  Just a couple other questions that have come up.  She has a car on PCP as far as I am aware they are collecting the car on Wednesday and it will clear the pcp so assuming that won't need added? Also if there's any payment due from her pension is that to be added? Haven't heard back from them yet but I think maybe 1-2k there.   I've also added a pic of utility bills to check this will be accepted.

Sorry another question! In the will it says I am appointed as "trustee and exectutor" does that mean executor nominate?

Also it said failing me by death decline or incapacity- then my auntie.  Do I include her on the forms ?

Car would not be listed. If there is any debt outstanding to be paid, then this would be added into the liabilities calculation.

Whether pension is listed depends on what type of payment is involved.

Do not include pictures of utility bills - the court has no interest.

Describe yourself merely as executor (or executrix) nominate

    No need to reference auntie.

You say "It all hinges on the validity of the evacuation of the special destination. If signed by both parents and prepared by a solicitor then you would expect it to be OK."

Yes -  evacuation of the special destination signed by both parents and prepared by a solicitor.  We aim to sell the house in due course (after Xmas).

I might start new thread for this as feel I might need some more advice on whether 2 confirmations needed.
