Another possibility is some virus/keylogger in your PC.

Could it be that you used a phishing link and gave your details to someone else who then used them to steal from you? (I'd change your amazon password pronto if I were you)
I ordered through Amazon and paid through Amazon
I remove my card details every time that I finish buying something too !!
So I am guessing that it must be someone within the company that I ordered through (or someone within Amazon)0 -

My money is on internal Amazon. It isnt beyond the realms of possibility. O2 call centres used to have the same problems with CSAs topping off mates phones and stealing card numbers. Eventually, they get caught because of the 'dogs' inside the systems, but those algorithms cant be everywhere at once and it takes a pattern to spot the dishonest employees. Maybe I was unlucky, but given this is the third similar instance I have heard of on these boards alone, it raises questions about Amazon security.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

I would be calling your bank asap. Or just go up to your bank if need be.0

I have called my bank - they blame Amazon and have already refunded the money - put a block on my card and are sending me a replacement card
I have emailed Amazon twice - the first time, they responded with :
"I picked up your email, and I am happy to assist you today. I understand that you have a charge on your account for GBP 207.00. I am sorry but checking on your account, I was unable to locate the charge, and I can confirm that it is not an Amazon charge. If you notice a credit or debit card charge for a purchase you did not make, you should contact your bank to report this unauthorised charge. Please rest assured that Your Account is secure. I hope this information helps. If we can be of further assistance, you can reply directly to this e-mail. You can also reach us by chat or phone from this link:"
I followed this up with a request for a full investigation
NO RESPONSE
I blame Amazon and have closed my account....0 -

If your bank refund you there's nothing more for you to do really. Amazon didn't debit you for the second transaction, the O2 did so in effect they are right. Your suspicions about how someone got your card details are just that, suspicions. Unless you have proof, better to leave it.0

I hate to say it - but since Amazon are stupid enough not to reply to my follow up email (and have lost a customer by not doing) - I guess that there is nothing else that I can do......I have closed my account down ..0 -
Your bank statement should give you the name of the company the money has gone to. Is it the merchant you named, amazon or someone totally different?1
