I'll join you JTTOU I've just made a coffee too.
I have just made some chili jam and some jelly for the kids for later.
I put a "football" mini baby bel in DD lunch yesterday not expecting her to even try it, but she's just asked for one now! Breakthrough! If she starts eating cheese that will make life easier, DS is a little mouse and I much prefer giving cheese as a snack than something carby...
So after my coffee I'm going to put a wash on, empty the kitchen bin, then sort the shoe dump in the garage. Then I will sort lunch (jacket spud for DD with some chili I have on the go, and apparently another football cheese!Bossymoo

Morning all, disappeared last week due to tonsilitius. Never had it before and hope I never get it again. Really only starting to come round now. Only thing done over the last week has been the wm and dw so house is rather bad at the minute.
This morning I think I've done a little bit in each room so I think i'll just carry that on today. Over done it slightly yesterday so slow and steady here from now on.
Haven't had a chance to catch up on thread, DS2 managed to do something to the computer while I was sofa bound so have spent the last hour try to fix it, hopefully the problem is sorted.
Right back to washing pile and get the fire lit.“Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.”0 -

FacelessNumber wrote: »Just wondering if anyone has any tips for getting (veg) oil stains out of clothes? We use veg oil at work and it ends up everywhere. The (poorly chosen) yellow tops then get stained and I haven't been able to get it out. Any tips welcome :-)
DH got a major oily stain on one of his favourite tops, I tried sprinkling with corn flour to soak up the oil; didn't work. Then I tried neat washing up liquid a few times; faded slightly but didn't go. In desperation, I used elbow grease -- not the hard work varietybut the yellow cleaning spray. I got mine at the carp shop, the kind of place that sells plastic storage crates, washing up bowls, loo brushes etc and has them all piled up on the pavement outside, IYKWIM?! I figured if it damaged the top it was no biggie as he couldn't wear it the way it was anyway. I sprayed it over the stain, let it soak for half an hour and chucked it in with the dark load I was about to do. I wasn't holding out much hope but it came out spotless
and no damage or discolouration to the fabric at all. It's my go-to oily stain remover now, and it gets a lot of use as DH is a mucky eater!
Kaz, I'm so sorry you're having similar beef with your DD as we are having with DSD. I wish I had some constructive advice but I'm at a loss. Have a *hug* instead xx
On break between jobs, just having a swift brew then I need to shuffle washing. DH and I ate late last night and I couldn't be bothered to wash up so I left it for this morning -- NEVER doing that again, I was steaming with myself when I had to stand an do 25 mins of it first thing. Lesson learned, for a change!0 -
How did you get on JTTOU? I went over a little as the washer finished after my second hhc so I've just hung bits on the radiators - rained all morning here
I haven't found the errant trainers yet however I've got a fair bit done in the garage and DD has food. So I've sorted under the worktop in the garage and put winter boots away, and put my sandals and pumps on the shoe rack. Can fit more pairs on in summer
I've tidied the pegs as I seem to have collected carrier bags. They are just on the floor at the mo and the shoe tidy that was in DD wardrobe is now home to lots of tennis balls and similar gibble. I now have a bag of buckets and spades to organise and rehome.
Oh, I've put the trampoline on the local Facebook selling pages too! If it goes I will bring the desk down from the loft and set up a little desk instead!Bossymoo

Hi - de-lurking newbie to this thread.
Can't believe that I haven't looked at this thread before as its brilliant! I have been suffering from chronic illness and depression for a while now and was find it harder and harder to get to grips with housework whilst continuing full time work.
Coming home to a dirty, untidy house after a full day at work was horribly depressing and I was doing less and less everyday because I felt so swamped.
Following this thread simplifies everything and even if I only achieve level one on some days, I feel much better as I have done something rather than nothing and that feeling is such a huge motivator to keep me going.
Still got a long way to go but just wanted to say what a big help its been and "Thank You":heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Oh deary me - I didn't!!! - just thought I'd check the emails, as we were waiting for an important one, whilst I drank my coffee and it was there. Had a brief panic as couldn't get either laptop to work properly so had DH print off the report and come home from work!! Now in the middle of several important calls and typing stuff. Doesn't look like I'll get any flying done today now.
Perhaps i should just write off the week and start again next week?:)July 16 £95/£200

Welcome, charlies aunt x and never mind JTTOU hope everything's ok xxx
I've done a bit more, partly pottering, then DD asked for some "naily barnish" lol so she now has pink toenails
Garage is looking a lot healthier but I have some rubbish, and my black bin is fulland not to be emptied until next Wednesday.
Washing an old cot quilt I found plus DDs old puddle jumping suit. Don't think I know anyone with a little girl to hand it over toBossymoo
