Interestingly the only Paul Smith suits on the Selfridges web site are two piece at £500, so if the waistcoat is an additional £230 that would make the total £730, which is pretty close to what the OP has actually paid.

Take the refund then start over again in a different store.

Don't take the refund and demand that the store fulfill their part of the contract!

If they've admitted they made the mistake then you may be able to negotiate with them. However, citizen's advice website states:

"If the trader makes a genuine mistake when pricing something, they won’t have committed an offence. The trader doesn’t have to sell you the goods at that price. If you find out the price is higher than you want to pay you can change your mind about buying it."

However, in this instance the contract is concluded. The goods have been paid for at the price agreed.

You do realise people only really look at the bride...?

(So get a refund, buy a cheaper one, and spend the money on your honeymoon).
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I looked at the Selfridges site yesterday and it has changed since then. When I looked there was only one 3 piece suit at circa £1400. There was a 2 piece at £710, which is what the OP paid, and the only waistcoat was £230. This tallies with what he paid for and what they are now asking for. There could well be other items available in store that are not available online, but if there was only the one 3 piece then it should have been pretty obvious that £710 was too little. It's going to come down to how Selfridges want to deal with the matter.

    BUT

They have now accepted an 'offer' from the OP. OP offered £710 they accepted it.

They have taken the OPs money and sold the suit for that price. What's thrown a spanner in the works here is that the suit has been left with them for alterations.

I would be pointing out, OP, that you paid the price they asked at the till. Moreover, given that the display said 'Suits £710' you had no reason to think that there had been a pricing error.

I don't think Selfridges have a case here, actually.

I'll try to make it clear

The suit was on the rack as a three piece suit
The trousers, jacket and waist coat were not separately priced, just one price of 720 for the suit which was on the jacket.
I even tried the same waist jacket in a larger size - no price label on this either.
Bought the three piece suit and was asked for 720 at the till which I paid in full.

    Many thanks

Mmmm that's puts a different complexion on it. Their departmental manager is out of order and surely out of line with company policy!
I'd write to head office.their mistake.rude and cheeky to expect you to swallow this.

It's going to come down to how far the OP is prepared to take this.
