    Finally!

Work have acknowledged the problems with my pension formally, in black and white (with lots of weasel words).
    • £1300+ to be paid along with my regular contribution by the end of May
    • A binding offer to pay any investment shortfall resulting

Assuming a shortfall of something like 5-6% over 3 years, FV function tells me that I'll be c. £5k better off by the time I want to draw my pension.

Getting closer to that Lamborghini! :j

    Cheers.

I've always had a pension, back in the days when I was DFW it was the only thing that was 'mine'. Not doing too badly for 31, I have a preserved £2,000/year from the Civil Service (extra payments made) and my current, stakeholder pension.

It gives me some peace of mind :coffee:

It's the best day of the week again :j

This has been a very productive week in terms of saving, thanks largely to pot shuffling, eBay and matched betting. Brain still buzzing with lots of month end ideas, spreadsheet fun will be had by all.

    This week

    Money saved: £184.39 + £571.87 = £756.26
    Money invested: £150
    Total: £906.26 (+£673.57)
    Income: £906.26 * (4%/12) = £3.02/month (+£2.26)

    Last week

    Money saved: £92.47 + £140.22 = £232.69
    Money invested: £0
    Total: £232.69
    Income: £232.69 * (4%/12) = £0.76/month

    You're missing a % increase - monthly and then cumulative :D.

Great progress Mr & Mrs Ed :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks for the suggestion GG - that's a measure that would probably be really good fun in strong savings weeks - but mebbe a little dull in routine weeks? For example, week 1-2 looks fab, but once the pot hits ££££, the difference will become smaller each week. Maybe I'm just trying to cherry pick my metrics too much :D

Sold another DVD last night, got the £40 asking price after some cheeky plonker tried to suggest £15 :rotfl:

Went running and got groceries yesterday evening, so considering a gentle plooter about the West end with Mrs E today. That's an actual part of Glasgow, not a euphemism

love thread. Wished I'd stumbled on the idea 15 years ago. Mr Watty and I were wondering where all our spare cash over the years had actually gone. He did mutter I'd had a horse all that time - but - I cannot accept the responsibility alone:)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
