Brilliant news, I think you will be very good at it and really enjoy it ... you gonna be an IFA?

Yes, that's the long term plan :)
I must just hijack for a moment to express my frustration. Last January I set up a regular saver with HSBC online and sent DH into town to set one up the same day in branch (they have cocked up his online credentials and account profile but that is another tale) - this week, they matured. His matured 4 days before mine and with 72p more interest. Apparently my on-line application took 10 days to set up and initiate the DD, even though I did all the work and then I have been punished by loss of interest.

No need to apologise! I tried to switch current accounts with them, they took 5 weeks, transferred nothing and I'll be closing the account as soon as I can be bothered going to a branch. No confidence in them.

Fantastic news re. the course, good luck with it. Life is too short to do work that you don't have some kind of interest in. :)

Thanks all - obliged to point out that I'll be legally advised not to offer advice until I have completed my diploma and even then, only under supervision ;)

Perfect! Just brilliant. So many of us have been inspired by you that I think this is excellent news :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
